Job Summary – HR Manager – Training & Development, Richburg SC


The HR Manager, Training and Development supports organizational training and development needs by creating, designing, and implementing company training plans/materials, programs, and overseeing/facilitating the learning and professional development of our workforce. Partners closely with operational and functional (maintenance, quality, tech services, finance, HR/GA, planning) leaders to assess learning needs, coordinate internal and external resources to deliver training, and audits existing certification/qualification processes. Scope includes maintenance of training certification and recertification records, training rosters, grants and economic reimbursement programs.

Key Responsibilities


  • Designing, planning, and executing successful training and development programs

  • Curriculum and certification/qualification and repeatable skill check up

  • Effective communication and strong presentation skills

  • Proven ability to build and develop relationships across all levels of management

  • Prepare schedules, allocate trainers to different courses and monitor costs to keep programs within budget

  • Utilization of online training programs

  • Translating operational skill needs into development activities with ROI analytics

  • Ability to work in "hands on " environment"

  • Prepare progress reports for the senior management team and maintain employees’ training records.

  • Improving the productivity of the organization's employees

  • Assesses property-wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives and identifies and arranges suitable training solutions for employees.

  • Conducts annual training and development needs assessment

  • Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.




  • Minimum of 7 years of leadership/generalist experience in Training and Development or similar/relevant role

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources/Business or Education preferred

  • Proven track record of analytical, management and decision-making skills to assess training needs and recommend appropriate solutions

  • Previous experience in technical training and positive employee relations in a manufacturing environment





Our family-owned company started in 1951 making bicycle tires and inner tubes in Indonesia. In 1981, the company began making passenger and commercial tires. In 1993, we opened our first tire plant in China and have grown to seven tire plants in China, making 140,700 tires a day and employing 19,000. We also own almost 50 percent of Gajah Tunggal tire company in Indonesia. The combined output of the Chinese and Indonesian plants makes Giti the 10th largest tire company by production volume.
