Bell Helicopter has an immediate opening in Amarillo, TX for a Strategic HR Manager/ Leader to join our organization.

This role is the Leader for our HR operations based in the Amarillo, TX which is the manufacturing helicopter assembly center for our military programs such as the V-22 and H-1, in addition to the new commercial 525 Relentless aircraft. This position will house in Amarillo, Texas and will also cover the facilities in Lafayette, LA and Ozark, AL (requiring up to 25% travel.) 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position will be responsible for leading a team of Site HRBP’s that will be managing and coordinating all HR functions and services for approximately 815 Bell employees at three sites. It provides strategic and operational support in partnership with site leadership, plans and implements human resources initiatives designed to maximize organizational effectiveness through talent management processes, talent/successor development, and job/organization design.

The role also has responsibility for activities in talent acquisition, talent development and management, diversity inclusion and belonging, ethics and compliance, positive workplace (union avoidance), benefits and payroll.

Additionally, the position acts as the Compliance Officer for the site and has direct or co-responsibility in ensuring federal, state and local compliance. The leader drives the alignment of HR initiatives with strategic business objectives and coordinates with Human Resources COE leaders to execute objectives consistent with business and HR strategy, policies and practices.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  1. Partnering with business leaders to drive the people and organization agenda
  2. Assist in creating a positive team-oriented environment through HRBP development and motivation.
  3. Develop a system of collaboration and foster open communication
  4. Demonstrate an energetic self-starter attitude through strong leadership skills, work ethic, and the highest level of integrity.
  5. Aligning your HR work, initiatives, programs, and projects to critical business drivers and strategy
  6. Using systems models, diagnostics, and data to analyze organizational problems and provide solutions
  7. Influencing cultural evolution through partnership with talent acquisition, providing context to rewards systems, direct employee engagement, leadership development, talent management, and working to create an inclusive environment
  8. Applying an array of strategic talent management solutions to continuously improve talent acquisition, retention, assessment, development, and career/professional growth
  9. Building an active collaborative partnership with employee relations and managing the interface between business, Labor and Employee Relations COE, Human Resources COE, union covered employees and union leadership
  10. Providing coaching to business leaders and working to improve effectiveness of leaders and teams
  11. Growing HR and business understanding while partnering with leaders on varying team/business needs, pace and configurations (acquired employees, newly established teams, teams going through change)
  12. Build and sustain external community workforce and economic development relationships and strengthen community outreach while building the workforce of the future (i.e. with local colleges and universities, programs, etc.)

Requirements

 EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  1. Bachelor’s degree in business, HR or a related
  2. At least 7 years progressive experience in HR disciplines with a strategic focus or equivalent experience
  3. At least 5 years’ experience managing a HR team
  4. Previous HR leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
  5. Experience coaching and influencing leaders
  6. Demonstrated ability to assess needs and design innovative solutions
  7. Demonstrated ability to think strategically and drive tactical execution
  8. Demonstrated ability to work and gain credibility with leadership, employees and peers.
  9. Track record of strong performance and significant contributions to the business.
  10. Employment/Labor Law knowledge
  11. Proven ability to understand strategic organizational issues and influence change
  12. Capable and confident communicator with personal presence and ability to cultivate relationships
  13. Self-directed and motivated. Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and negotiation skills. Ability to navigate through complexity and matrixed environment
  14. Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills. Experience in creative problem solving, influencing, change management, and eliminating barriers at any organizational level
  15. Ability to develop trusting relationships to gain support and achieve results at all levels of the organization. Experience in coaching, training, and developing employees in a high-performance culture
  16. Ability to travel up to 25% to Lafayette, LA, Ozark, AL and Fort Worth, TX headquarters.  
  17. SHRM certification preferred  
  18. Must be willing to relocate to Amarillo, TX
