The HR Manager offers a constant assurance for staff and leadership that everything is under control. The HR Manager is comfortable with spreadsheets and relishes the challenge of analyzing complex datasets. Mistakes will happen—the HR Manager is not the complaint department, but focuses on finding solutions that benefit individuals and the organization as a whole.

PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Hire, coach, train, and supervise HR staff
  • Manage talent acquisition processes and collaborate with Director of HR, Department heads, and HR Coordinators to develop agile hiring policies
  • Manage employee onboarding including software and hardware deployment
  • Work with department heads to create and administer Performance Review policies
  • Assess employee preparedness at regular intervals and make recommendations for policy changes to hiring and onboarding to fill gaps
  • Build a culture of engagement aimed at educating employees on benefits, rights, company policies, and participation in company programs
  • Collaborate with other managers to implement necessary cross department orientations and training sessions
  • Assist employees with benefits enrollment
  • Build systems to maintain personnel files both in digital and print formats
  • Assist Director of HR with establishing policies and procedures for documentation and archiving
  • Assist Director of HR with reevaluating HR software
  • Advise staff of available company and government resources
  • Assist with employee separations advising managers on policies and documentation
  • Maintain compliance in the development and execution of policies and procedures

SECONDARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist hiring managers with job descriptions and job postings
  • Assist Director of HR with policy creation and review

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED:

  • 5+ years experience in HR Management
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience managing projects, identifying stakeholders, and building consensus
  • Familiarity with basic San Francisco and California payroll and employment laws

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Active listening
  • Advanced spreadsheet experience (Excel, Google, Numbers)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Highly detail oriented and organized
  • Reliable, responsible and proactive attitude
  • Highly motivated and works well both independently and in a team environment
  • Adaptable to change; ability to learn new software platforms

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION PREFERRED:

  • SHRM-CP or SPHR
  • Experience working in a restaurant, warehouse, or manufacturing environment a plus
  • Familiarity with California beer market

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application. 

TRAVEL:

  • Occasional travel between worksites
