As a proven leader in spinal healthcare, Virginia Spine Institute is seeking a Human Resources Manager to direct and administer the daily HR functions and operations. Reporting to the COO/CFO, the Human Resources Manager is responsible for directing all Human Resource functions for approximately 100 team members. This person oversees talent acquisition, employee training and development, employee relations, compensation and benefits administration, community relations and compliance; manages human resources activities such as policy and procedure development, planning, recruiting, employment, payroll, HRIS systems, employee services and management reporting. Facilitates and collaborates to maintain a fun, rewarding, challenging and engaging work culture for the organization.

The ideal candidate will have five or more years of experience in a HR manager or broad senior HR generalist role with the ability to think and work independently with little supervision. They will also have at a minimum a Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree preferred, in Human Resources or closely related business field preferably with PHR/SPHR certification. This person will be a strong relationship builder and have excellent oral and written communication skills.

SOME ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:  
  • Recommends and implements approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Conducts recruitment for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, and temporary employees; facilitates and conducts orientations; monitors career-pathing program, administers employee relations and exit interviews.
  • Performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and annual re-evaluation of benefits for cost effectiveness.
  • Establishes and maintains employment records and reports. Coordinates various meetings, and attends manager and other meetings. Maintains company organization charts, employee directory and employee handbook.
  • Analyzes, prepares and inputs payroll data. Using automated system produces accurate and timely payroll. Ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations.
