General Summary of Position

Responsible for human resources including staffing, compensation, benefits administration, EEOC.  Reports to Executive Director of Gilchrist Hospice Care and GBMC Director of Business Partner Services.


  • BS in Administration/Human Resources; MBA or MPA preferred.


  • Minimum of five years progressively responsible HR positions.
  • Minimum two years experience in health care setting.
  • Previous experience in a home care organization is highly desirable.


  •  Previous experience in a home care organization is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of how to conduct wage/salary and employee satisfaction surveys; to mediate personnel disputes; to analyze human resources data for critical indicators and decision-making.
  •  Knowledge of compensation/benefits administration.
  • Understanding of regulatory impact (CHAPS, State, CMS) on HR function.
  •  Skill in staying abreast with the state-of-art in employment, labor, compensation, government regulations related to personnel.
  • Skill in gathering/analyzing objective and subjective data on personnel matters and facilitation resolution.
  • Skill in advising/educating managers on best HR practices including employee training, motivation, development, and discipline/termination.
  • Ability to role model effectively with many types of people at all levels including as an employee advocate and, a manager resource.
  • Ability to use the human resources management information system and timekeeping systems in reporting statistics and producing management reports.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form.
  • Ability to use computer equipment.

Licensures, Certifications

  • None required. PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar industry certification highly preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Sitting for prolonged periods of time, up to eight hours/day.

Working Conditions

  • Primarily office setting. Minimal exposure to communicable diseases.
