The Human Resources Manager provides HR leadership and support for Mercury Service organization supporting the Foundry, Machining, Propellers, and Heat Treat facilities in Fond du Lac, as well as the Tool and Die facility in Brookfield Wisconsin . Business partner with leaders in functional areas to design and execute HR strategies that support business needs.  Ensures that HR/Employee Relations programs and projects meet business and functional requirements and improves individual and organization performance. 


  • Actively participate in strategic planning with functional leaders to understand business priorities and translate them into HR priorities.  Create and implement HR strategies in areas of workforce planning and staffing, development and training, employee relations, and overall talent management to support needs and requirements of the business.
  • Manage and oversee the recruitment, selection, offer, and onboarding process for the organization.
  • Collaborate with HR team within Mercury and across Brunswick to determine and ensure appropriate consistency in communication, policies, and practices. 
  • Guide managers through HR related processes such as promotions/transfers, performance management, recognition and salary planning.  Reviews and approves personnel actions.
  • Oversees and/or manages administration and compliance aspects of HR function which includes legal/regulatory obligations, Company policies and benefits, Ethics program, HRIS data integrity, and Employee programs.
  • Management of the grievance policy and interpretation/application of contractual language, employment policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate and provide for appropriate employee development and training programs for employees. Actively solicit managers and senior management input to determine development needs for the operations.
  • Serve as a leader in driving positive organizational change. Support and foster a safe and engaging work environment for all employees.



Education Requirements (special training, college degree, etc.)

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field, required



  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in Human Resources, with at least 3 years in a Manufacturing and/or Warehouse Distribution environment required.
  • Must have a through knowledge of all Human Resources generalist functions (e.g., Employee Relations, Employment, EEO, Compensation and Benefits, Training, etc.), and Human Resource-related laws and regulations.
  • Prior labor relations experience strongly preferred.


Skill Requirements (Technical, Communication, Interpersonal, etc.)

  • Ability to coach and advise senior leaders with candor, integrity and credibility.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational communication skills.
  • Ability to interact positively with employees with all levels of the organization.
  • Sound judgment and thinking to analyze situations and make appropriate decisions and/or recommendations.
  • Action orientation with ability to prioritize and follow through on commitments.
  • MS Office proficiency Excel, Word, and Power Point is required. Excel skills must include writing formulas, designing/analyzing spreadsheets, and creating charts/graphs.
  • Oracle, Discoverer, Workday and Kronos skills are a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive change and improve retention, attraction, and engagement.
  • Thorough knowledge of human resource management theories and practices, and established standards of professional conduct in the field.
