The City of Burlington is a growing full-service municipality including Finance, Police, Fire, Public Works (streets, parks and forestry), Water & Wastewater, Municipal Airport, Library, Municipal Court serving 10,824 residents. Burlington is seeking our “Internal Customer Support” Liaison championing our most valuable asset, our employees. The successful candidate will be an approachable, practical and forward-thinking professional with strong skills to manage a broad range of personnel services for a workforce of 78 full and approximately 40 part-time and seasonal employees. The Human Resource Manager, under direct supervision of the City Administrator will be responsible for recruitment,
retention, development, workplace safety, risk mitigation, benefits education and management, among many other human resource functions.

The energetic professional will have strong technical and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate must have an inclusive managerial style, as well as clear, concise, and open communication skills. The successful candidate will: • possess a passion for public service, commitment to high professional standards founded in a solid understanding of modern personnel administration and accompanied by a commonsensical and non- bureaucratic frame of mind, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and preferably have government HR, labor relations and contract negotiation experience. Candidates should also have: • A Bachelor’s degree in human resources, public administration, business
administration or related field. • SPHR or SHRM-SCP credentials and/or a Master’s degree, are a plus; and five to seven years of experience in personnel administration. The starting salary is $65,478.
