Do you want to make an impact? Are you interested in leveraging all aspects of Human Resources to ensure employees are supported and engaged? We are looking for a highly motivated Human Resources Generalist to join our HR team, based in Sparks, MD. The HR Generalist is responsible for supporting the HR Business Partner team and employees in the core location and, potentially, for a client group. This position will report to the SVP of Human Resources. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

Provide key HR support to employees and HR Business Partner team for work location. 

  • Responsible for full function HR Generalist activities for the employee client group(s) assigned and/or core business location. 
  • Support essential organization HR processes, annual Organization & Talent reviews, engagement initiatives, organizational effectiveness, and performance management (goals and objectives, midyear reviews, and year-end review process).
  • Develop and implement staffing plans for the client group and partner with the internal staffing organization to develop a candidate pipeline. 
  • Support HR Business Partner team in interviewing candidates and with on-boarding efforts and presentations.
  • Assist with employee survey processes including communications, employee participation, data analysis & action planning.
  • Partner with management and the Compensation team to define salary and bonus planning for the employee client group.
  • Act as liaison between HR, management and employees regarding HR policies, guidelines and procedures. 
  • Responsible for select investigations, conflict resolution, and employee communications.
  • Work with HR and the business to assess, develop and deliver training programs as needed.
  • Develop, implement and measure programmatic initiatives to meet organization goals and objectives.
  • Provide key HR work flow support for the employee life cycle, including report analysis and presentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in Human Resources/Labor Relations, Business or related discipline) OR equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of Human Resources experience
  • 2+ years of experience in Human Resources or 4+ years of relevant business experience, including staffing/recruiting, HR policies/procedures and regulations, and employee relations.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 15% of the time
  • Intermediate proficiency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint and HRIS experience, UltiPro a plus 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including modifying approach based on audience
  • Strong business acumen
  • Ability to guide and influence outcomes without direct authority
  • Ability to build trust and relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality at all times and in all situations.
