ISTP is presently searching for a full-time Human Resources Generalist  in Palo Alto, CA. In this position, you will primarily focus on full-cycle employee experience and programs including, benefits management, HR administration, employee relations, training, and payroll processing functions. Under minimal supervision of the Chief Financial Officer, the Human Resources Generalist will also provide guidance to employees and management on best practices and address general employee relations questions. 

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Maintains HRIS database and processes bi-weekly payroll.
  • Provides support in all functional areas of Human Resources,
  • Implements employee programs and policies (e.g., employment onboarding, training, compensation and benefits, etc.),
  • Maintains and revises the Employee Handbook and HR related policies and procedures,
  • Provides guidance to managers and employees on policy questions and potential employee relations concerns. Works with managers to resolve employee-related problems,
  • Responds to employee requests for clarification and assistance,
  • Administers and maintains all company benefits programs; Manages all leaves of absences to ensure compliance; Is the primary liaison for 403(b) audit.
  • Manages all Workers’ Compensation (“WC”) claims and the annual audit.
  • Performs duties of DOJ administration.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s degree, PHR Certificate and minimum of five years of progressive human resources experience.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP Preferred
  • 2+ years in the education industry or a professional service organization is preferred
  • Recent experience processing payroll required.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HR disciplines: employment law, employee relations, compensation and benefits, job design and career development, performance management and training
  • Intermediate MS Office application skills
  • Working knowledge of Paycom is preferred
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively with diverse employee populations
  • Proven ability to work effectively with and through employees
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidential information
  • Possess a global & cultural awareness with a dedication to diversity and inclusion.
  • Must meet California state requirements for working in a licensed day care and elementary school.
  • Must have experience in California HR laws.

Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
