Planned Parenthood of Northern, Central and Southern New Jersey, Inc. (PPNCSNJ) provides comprehensive reproductive and sexual health care, abortion services, education and information to women, men and teens at 18 health centers throughout 18 counties in New Jersey.

Position Summary:

The HR Generalist (HRG) performs and supports human resources related duties at the professional level in an efficient and effective manner.   Primary responsibilities will focus on talent acquisition for all nonexempt positions, on boarding, retention, benefits administration; leave administration, and other HR projects as needed.

Primary responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following: 

  • Responsible for internal/external recruitment to include: staffing needs, recruitment ads, application screening, interviews, selecting qualified candidates, reference checks and/or background checks, job descriptions, job offers and new hire orientation.
  • Administer and resolves employee concerns related to all benefit programs (i.e. health, dental, disability, FMLA, life, flex spending and retirement plans, etc.).
  • Manage the contracts and use of recruiting firms.
  • Enter information and paperwork into the HRIS to ensure that all transactions relating to employment and benefits are organized.
  • Conduct routine audits on files to include licensure, certifications, education verification, background checks, competencies, evaluations, etc.

IDEAL QUALITIES AND EXPERIENCE

The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes and experience:

  • Sourcing openings in newspaper advertisements, with professional organizations and in other position appropriate venues.
  • Ability to lead the creation of a recruiting and interviewing guide for each open position.
  • Ensuring managers are informed throughout hiring the process by regular follow-up with managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans and implementation.
  • Conducting new employee orientations to ensure employees gain an understanding of benefits. Counseling employees (and potential employees/applicants) on plan provisions so that individuals can make informed decisions on benefits.
  • Highly organized and proficient at preparing documentation and spreadsheets.
  • Providing information & assistance to senior management, health center management & employees regarding various HR rules, regulations & procedures & ensures department is in compliance.
  • Demonstrate ability to fill open positions.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Demonstrate ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to travel throughout the Affiliate’s service area as required.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to workplace values of respect, caring, support, effective communication, teamwork & collaboration, accountability and responsibility; practice these values in relation with internal and external customers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned in support of the mission and as required.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Human Resource Management or related business field. PHR or SHRM-CP preferred.
  • Minimum three (3) years in Human Resource; generalist experience preferred.
