Cape Fox Shared Services (CFSS) is seeking a talented HR Generalist to join our growing team.  Cape Fox Corporation is a small Alaska Native Corporation (ANC) with multiple subsidiaries.  Our highly capable employees lead and support various programs for the military and other federal government agencies.  CFSS provides internal support for our employees and CF operations.  We offer a positive, family oriented and high achieving culture.  The CFSS Human Resources Generalist assists with the day-to-day operations of Human Resources needs. The HR Generalist will also assist with responsibilities in the following functional areas: departmental development, employee relations, benefits, salary and pay practices, review of assigned staff, and employment.   The Human Resources Generalist manages Payroll Action Forms, Employee Census Reporting, Staffing Rosters, Benefit Administration and other template documents as directed by the Human Resources Manager. This position requires a high degree of creativity and initiative.  The HR Generalist leads Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and ongoing development of a highly talented workforce. 

The HR Generalist: 

  • Conducts new hire orientation and onboarding
  • Manages all aspects of documentation of new employees.
  • Responds to employment inquiries
  • Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance
  • Assists with the analysis, maintenance, and communication of records required by law or local governing bodies, or other departments in the organization
  • Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation
  • Prepares onboarding documents/files and processes new hired employees
  • Manages benefits programs such as life, health, and dental insurance, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance
  • Accurately audits benefits bills monthly and reports and corrects variances/discrepancies
  • Performs benefit administration including claims resolution, change reporting, and communicate benefit information to employees
  • Assists with personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting
  • Participates in staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars
  • Writes and delivers reports to Manager.
  • Assists the HR Managers and HR Site Lead with various administrative/clerical duties

Requirements

 

  • Collaborative and directive leadership skills with trust being the most important skill
  • In-depth knowledge of company policies and procedures and strategic vision
  • Strong organizational abilities with an ability to develop and establish record and file keeping procedures
  • Demonstrated proficiency on all Microsoft Office applications as well as the ability to quickly learn and utilize various corporate or computer based applications as required.
  • Ability to multi-task daily and project driven requirements
  • Ability to work with a variety of people and foster positive working relationships
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and reliability
  • Minimum of Associates Degree required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in the Human Resources field and any HR certifications are a plus.
  • Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
