Works with Human Resources Director to manage the day to day operations of department. Plans, directs, or coordinates human resources activities and staff of an organization. Manages the administration of the human resources policies, procedures and programs. The HR Generalist carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: departmental development, Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), employee relations, training and development, benefits, organizational development, and employment.

 

Job Expectations and Essential Functions:

  • Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting and administering contracts and helping resolve work-related problems.
  • Advise managers on organizational policy matters such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment, and recommend needed changes.
  • Represent organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
  • Administer benefits management systems.
  • Analyze monthly benefit invoices and submit to finance for payment.
  • Administer and maintain benefit links between payroll and benefit providers.
  • Responsible for benefit open enrollment
  • Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, and opportunities for promotion and employee benefits.
  • Maintain records and compile statistical and analytical reports concerning personnel-related data such as hires, transfers, performance appraisals, and absenteeism rates.
  • Works with Director to complete and file annual compliance reports.
  • Reviews training needs with management to design employee development, training and health and safety programs.
  • Develop and maintain job descriptions.
  • Plan and conduct new employee orientation and exit interviews to foster positive attitude toward organizational objectives.
  • Administer Employee Leave of Absence/ FMLA/Disability Claims.
  • Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, conduct or attend staff meetings, consult with managerial or supervisory personnel.
  • Resolving Conflicts and Negotiating with Others, resolve personnel problems or grievances, establishing and maintaining Interpersonal Relationships

Requirements

Five Years Human Resources Experience

Bachelors Degree

SHRM-CP
