Job Summary

Reporting to the HR Director, the HR Generalist (HRIS) provides support for a wide variety of human resources activities including employee relations, benefits administration, performance management, payroll and HRIS analysis. Delivers guidance to managers on all HR practices; provides information to all employees about Company benefits, policies and HR initiatives. Fully utilizes Human Resources platforms, provides strategic analysis; manages employee HRIS data. Oversees the payroll process, ensuring accuracy and providing direction to the payroll administrator.

Essential Functions
  • Provides daily Generalist support, including benefits administration, employee relations, performance management, guidance and interpretation of policy.
  • Responsible for complete ownership and coordination of all HR technology platforms including the maintenance of HRIS/Payroll systems and records, applicant tracking systems, and performance management software; maintains employee records.
  • Leverages HR technology platforms and HRIS data to produce meaningful analysis, reports and business insights to Business Unit partners.
  • Analyzes HR Metrics (e.g., turnover, on boarding, engagement, etc.) and prepare trend reports to review with HR Director.
  • Oversees Payroll function, providing supervision to the Payroll Administrator; performs various checks throughout the payroll process to ensure accuracy.
  • Processes routine employee changes and adhoc pay requests in the HRIS and Payroll systems.
  • Responds to employee’s inquiries regarding policies and procedures, payroll and benefits.
  • Oversee site leave of absence processes and related tracking.
  • Coaches, counsels and guides managers before the execution of employee disciplinary action.
  • Assists in researching, investigating, and resolving employee performance or conduct matters.
  • Administers various human resources policies and procedures for all employees.
  • Partners with employees, and the local management team for planning and executing strategic HR initiatives that support the business. 
  • Communicates various HR policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations to employees and managers.
  • Provides manager support for performance management processes.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; contributes to the maintenance of handbook on policies and procedures.
  • Annually updates compensation program; rewrites job descriptions as necessary; conducts annual salary survey research; analyzes compensation and supports recommendations based on findings.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Support roll-out of new HR programs/ initiatives and ongoing implementation of existing programs/policies.
  • Maintains HR related documents on company intranet site.
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
  • Work with management to establish and maintain a positive work environment which encourages the full use of diverse talents and abilities;
  • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
  • Reviews employee complaints and ensure accurate and timely documentation of concerns or issues.
  • Responds to regulatory data requests as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.



Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Business related field. 


Required: 4-5 years generalist experience in human resources, benefits administration, performance management, employee relations and HRIS Analysis in a decentralized, multi-state environment with an employee population of 500+;


Required: HIPAA certification within 30 days of hire.

Preferred: PHR

Computer Skills:

Required: Required: 3+ years’ experience with a large enterprise HRIS and payroll system is required: Workday, Peoplesoft, ADP, Oracle, Ultimate Software, etc; Strong technical skills within the Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred: JD Edwards, SharePoint, Halogen, experience with ATS and performance management platforms.
