The Corporate HR Generalist is responsible for providing a wide range of  professional level HR support and guidance. While engaging with the Corporate and Field Support employee base & leadership teams, this position will encourage alignment serving as a first point of contact for general HR concerns. This position will take lead on employee relations concerns as well as HR policy review and revision.  Additionally, the Generalist, will play a lead role in engagement & culture initiatives, and a supporting role in D&I initiatives as well as people planning and performance management programs.

Essential Functions (Key Responsibilities)

  • Provide professional employee relations & performance management support to include consultation, investigation, and full case resolution
  • Regular HR policy review, benchmarking, and revision ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Administers, maintains, and creates (in partnership with HR team)  new hire and retention programs
  • Partners with Corporate HR Team to develop and facilitate new employee orientation and onboarding, as well as new hire training
  • Supports Corporate HR Manager on engagement and culture initiatives (plays active role in, maintains calendar and communication efforts for such events)
  • Handle all exit interviews and transition support for departing Corporate & Field Support employees, including involvement in termination conversations
  • Ensures completion and compliance of HR required training (reporting, follow up, etc.)
  • Oversees annual MVR check process for Company Fleet Drivers
  • Support Corporate HR Manager and Sr. Director on the annual performance management and people planning processes
  • Support and partner with broader Corporate HR Team on training & development and/or employment branding projects
  • Provide support and partnership for Corporate Recruiter on annual internship program (career fairs, recruiting support, logistics, etc.)
  • Support Corporate Recruiter on overflow recruiting and recruiting related activities
  • Other duties as assigned



Education and Experience Requirements

  • B.A.  in Human Resources or Business preferred, M.A. in Human Resources a plus
  • 5-7 years performing in an HR Generalist capacity, with a strong employee relations focus.
  • Experience supporting a Corporate structure strongly preferred.
  • PHR/SPHR preferred.

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Solid working understanding of employment law
  • Able to quickly understand, assess, and respond to the unique needs of all levels of business partners
  • Ability to balance the needs of the business, employees, and other stakeholders
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build positive professional relationships with all levels of the business
  • Must be proactive and resourceful
  • Experience in developing and delivering polished presentations
  • Ability to create, composes, and edit written materials and communications
  • Strong  organization and detail orientation with ability to manage projects and timelines
  • Must have a technical aptitude (both HR systems and HR law) and the ability to understand complex processes and procedures.
  • Ability to perform job functions with limited supervision or guidance, working with a great deal of autonomy with a “can do” attitude.
