Responsible for the implementation of the HR Strategy including employee relations, payroll, compensation, recruitment, turnover/retention and benefits.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Conducts pre-employment screenings such as criminal background, credit investigations, and pre-employment testing.
  • Creates and maintains human resources reports on HRIS software such as status reports, compensation analysis reports, termination reports, etc.
  • Conducts new employee orientation and collects new employee paperwork.
  • Handles all long-term disability insurance claims and Worker's Compensation claims and reporting. Acts as primary liaison between organization and agencies.
  • Responsible for the bi-weekly submission of payroll and related taxes and deductions.
  • Develops partnerships with internal staff that enable the Human Resources function to provide appropriate services to business partners.
  • Assists with annual benefits enrollment for group health, dental, vision, life insurance, long-term disability, and flex spending benefits.
  • Monitors COBRA, FMLA, and other compliance issues.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

  • Keep management informed regarding key operating issues affecting the department.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve member and internal inquiries in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Make recommendations for cost efficiencies and enhancements.
  • Be fully engaged in the Credit Union Core Values.

 

 

 

Requirements

Knowledge and Skills:

 

Experience               Two years to five years of similar or related experience.

 

 

Education                 A two year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program. HR Certification and/or specialized training in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, safety, training, and preventive labor relations preferred

 

 

Interpersonal           Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization.  Requires a significant level of diplomacy and trust.

 

Other                          Must be good with detail. Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel and Outlook.  Exerts up to 50 pound of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.  Requires close visual acuity.
