Summary of Job Position:


Under supervision, the HR Generalist will carry out the full spectrum of HR responsibilities including employee relations, benefits, compensation, performance management, talent acquisition, employee development.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities may include the following and are dependent upon actual job assignments (other duties may be assigned depending on the needs of the business).

 

-Perform all work according to the firm’s methods, policies and procedures
-Coordinate talent acquisition efforts including campus visits, recruitment advertising, and full lifecycle of selection
-Act as back up for controller for payroll
-Administer the performance review process, including participating in implementation of ADP WorforceNow
-Participate in employee development committee and manage professional development for the administrative staff
-Participate in compensation committee and coordinate pay increases and promotions in conjunction with performance reviews
-Coordinate coaching and mentoring programs
-Administer benefits plans and open enrollment, including health, dental and vision care, retirement plan, PTO policy, and other policies as needed.

KWC specializes in providing tax, audit, accounting and business advisory services for privately held businesses, individuals, estates, trusts, nonprofit organizations, and employee benefit plans. Our team is composed of approximately 90 people with locations in Alexandria and Richmond, Virginia.

Qualifications/Competencies: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Human resource management – Demonstrates the ability to manage the full spectrum of human resource programs with supervision from more senior HR professional; complying with federal and state employment laws

 

Project management – Demonstrates the ability to plan projects with supervision, anticipating issues, meeting timelines and budgets

 

Reasoning - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables; Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written and oral form; Ability to manage time and work independently and efficiently

 

Computer and Software - Ability to use Excel, Word, Outlook, PDF and ADP WorkforceNow; Ability to learn other firm software such as BNA, Prosystems and ProStaff; Will need to maneuver between multiple programs/screens on a daily basis

 

Education and/or Experience – Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or relevant topic. Two to four years of experience in Human Resource, with at least two being in a generalist type role.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations – PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP Preferred.

 

Travel – Occasional travel to Richmond office required.

 

Lifting - Occasional lifting of boxes and/or paperwork up to 25 pounds may be required for no more than 10% of the year, depending on the assigned client base.


Classification: Can be classified as Exempt


Measurements/Success Factors:

 

-Must demonstrate consistent communication to staff and leadership
-Must deliver, complete and audit open enrollment in a timely and thorough manner
-Must administer employee plans and benefits
-Must organize and assist in talent acquisition as needed
-Must handle administrative duties related to performance appraisals for accountants and administrative staff on bi-annual basis
-Must provide payroll assistance as needed
-Must contribute to staff development committee
-Must coordinate and record results of coaching and mentoring programs
-Must participate in and organize compensation committee twice a year
