Broadbent & Associates, Inc. is searching for an experienced Director of Human Resources (HR) at the corporate level, to provide executive leadership for strategy, structure, and performance in delivery of the full range of human resources services to the eight offices in the western U.S.

The director will learn Broadbent’s distinctive culture and become familiar with the 2019 Strategic Plan. The director will develop strategies and standards for delivering cost effective and innovative services to employees in accordance with Broadbent’s culture and strategic plan; provide guidance to senior management on human resources issues including formulation and recommendation of relevant policies and procedures; and develop processes to ensure creative, innovative employee life cycles from recruitment to termination. It is anticipated that the position will be based in either our Reno or Las Vegas, Nevada office.

Job Functions

  • Thoroughly understand and embrace Broadbent's 2019 Strategic Plan; support a process of organizational development that plans, communicates and cascades the results of strategic planning throughout the organization.

  • Understand and foster company culture and values; produce key organizational-wide communications to convey, enhance and modify company culture to support company goals and drive employee satisfaction.

  • Design, manage, implement and evaluate key HR initiatives.

  • Develop staffing strategies for key technical and management positions and generate job descriptions for Broadbent positions.

  • Manage recruitment and retention at all levels to attract and retain talent; recommend organizational structure and staffing levels to accomplish company goals and objectives.

  • Manage compensation strategy and benchmarking.

  • Manage employee onboarding, engagement programs, training and development.

  • Drive organizational employee/corporate communication and connectivity.

  • Develop, interpret, modify, and enforce company policies while striking a balance between the needs of the company and the employees.

  • Design and manage employee performance review program.

  • Review existing human resources information systems (HRIS) and effectively leverage technology to streamline and enhance HR operations.

  • Serve as liaison between Broadbent and HR Consultant group; consultant to continue to serve in the role of employee handbook development to ensure compliance of state and federal law; management of employment legal compliance; management of workplace investigations; assistance with Workers. Compensation claims; recruitment assistance and maintaining a 24/7 employee hotline.

 

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required

  • Bachelors' degree required, (MBA is a plus) in Human Resources or a related field.

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources positions, with 5 at a senior level.

  • Specialized Human Resources certifications such as SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and presence.

  • Demonstrated history of achievement and success in leadership capacity.

  • Relevant experience in a professional services environment; knowledge and experience in environmental consulting industry a plus.

  • A strategic planner with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus.
