POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for coordinating the implementation of services, policies, and programs through Human Resources staff. The Human Resources Director originates and leads Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the management of all activities of the Human Resources department including compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations; wage and salary administration; development, management and promotion of employee benefits.
  • Manages human resources operations by recruiting, selecting,  planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing staff job contributions; determining production, productivity, quality, resolving problems; implementing change.
  • Directly supervises Human Resources Manager and support staff.
  • Supporting management by providing human resources advice, counsel, and decisions; analyzing information and applications.
  • Guiding management and employee actions by researching, developing, writing, and updating policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines; communicating and enforcing organization values.
  • Participates in compensation issues for all employees (Design evaluation systems and coach management in proper implementation). Monitors the effectiveness of existing compensation policies, guidelines and procedures recommending plan revision.
  • Responsible for preparation, distribution and review of annual performance reviews and salary budget sheets.
  • Directs preparation and distribution of written and verbal information to inform employees of benefits programs, such as insurance, pension, Profit Sharing, life and other employer sponsored plans and makes recommendation for plan design changes.
  • Member of the Safety & Community Service Committee and participates in monthly meetings and directives as given.

SUPERVISORY MANAGEMENT

Will carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies and applicable laws. 

 Responsibilities include; interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; motivating, developing and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving conflicts.

 Responsible for communicating company vision and objectives in order to drive desired changes.

Requirements

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

 

Education/Training: Bachelors degree in BA/BS (or equivalent work experience), and a minimum of 5 to 7 years managerial experience.  PHR/SPHR certification a plus.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with senior management.
  • Ability to Work Cross-Functionally with All Levels of Staff.
  • Strong business acumen and business partnering skills
  • Solid, working knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and federal legislation related to employment practices and general HR administration.
  • Listens actively to others and assimilates their input and views. Respects and relates well to others from varied backgrounds.
  • Encourages and respects the contributions of others at all levels in the team; works to develop team spirit and contribution.
  • Excellent consulting, coaching, organizational and facilitation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentations.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite and working knowledge of an HRIS
