Oversees the day-to-day human resource needs of the organization while leading new initiatives. Implement new programs and processes in support of the company’s business needs and strategic/operational plan.

  1. Plans, directs and supervises all activities relating to the administration and maintenance of HR programs, policies, and procedures. Evaluates business strategies/needs and proposes strategic HR solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness of services provided.
  2. Partners with leadership to set and adjust strategic direction for new programs/initiatives.
  3. Monitors benefits plans and policies; performs annual program review including cost effectiveness analysis and employee satisfaction; conducts research and negotiates contracts; oversees annual open enrollment period.
  4. Coach employees and supervisors through performance management and the progressive disciplinary process. Collects appropriate documentation and informs CEO as necessary.
  5. Support managers and staff in proactive performance management throughout the year. Advise managers on talent identification and career development options. Assist with identifying learning and development needs.
  6. Prepare and present key HR operations and talent metrics and trends to leadership, articulating the underlying business objects met by each result.
  7. Identify, develop and implement engagement programs working to understand, sustain, and/or improve employee morale and maximize retention.
  8. Supervise staff of three to include a senior generalist, generalist, and payroll. Provide coaching and guidance on career development for HR team members.
  9. Act as a policy counsel and subject matter expert for all HR policies, serving as an escalation point in managing sensitive employee situations and investigations.
  10. Prepare annual departmental budget based on previous year’s use and future needs/initiatives that align with operations goals.
  11. Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
  12. Proactively supports and ensures on-going review of risk management and business continuity plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in human resources, business administration, or related field
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible HR roles, including leading an HR department and serving as a human resources business partner
  • Demonstrated ability to implement a strategic HR plan and drive for results
  • Strong working knowledge and depth of human resources disciplines (including, but not limited to performance management, compensation practices, employee relations, compliance, recruitment, and federal and state employment related laws)
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred
