We are looking for a mature, dependable individual who can work under minimal supervision for a busy HR department. The Human Resources Coordinator helps and facilitates the Human Resources processes within the department. This role administers employee health and welfare plans and acts as liaison between employees and insurance providers. This position resolves benefits-related problems and ensures effective use of plans and positive employee relations. The Human Resources Coordinator makes sure that certain plans are administered in accordance with federal and state regulations and that plan provisions are followed. This role provides administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance and data entry.

Essential Functions
* Administer various employee benefits programs, such as group health, flexible spending accounts, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, 401(k), and wellness benefits.

* Maintain employee benefits filing systems and ensure benefits changes are entered appropriately in payroll system for payroll deduction.

* Assist employees with health, dental, life and other related benefit claims.

* Verify the calculation of the monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies and maintain statistical data relative to premiums, claims and costs. Resolve administrative problems with the carrier representatives or insurance broker.

* Administer COBRA and disability plans with third-party administrator.

* Review and respond to unemployment claims with appropriate documentation. Review monthly unemployment statements.

* Coordinate workers' compensation certificates of coverage for clients and assuring policy is up to date with third-party administrator.

* Administers health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes and terminations. Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions.

* Reconciles monthly benefits statements.

* Conducts audits of payroll, benefits or other HR programs and recommends corrective action.

* Assists with processing of terminations.

* Assists with the preparation of the performance review process within the Performance Review system.

* Assists with recruitment and interview process. Tracks status of candidates in Recruiting software system and responds with follow-up letters at the end of the recruiting process.

* Makes photocopies; mails, scans and emails documents; and performs other clerical functions.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. 

Infrequent travel is required

Required Education and Experience
* Degree in Human Resources or related field and 2 + years equivalent experience.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and HRIS.
