Mecklenburg County Government is seeking a HR Consultant whose focus will be full life cycle recruitment for the Department of Social Services. The ideal candidate will also have an understanding and experience in other areas of HR including employee relations, performance management, classification and compensation and benefits administration.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

  • Work collaboratively with Youth and Family Services leadership to ensure sufficient staffing levels
  • Develop a robust recruitment and retention strategies for Youth and Family Services
  • Support a streamline hiring process for posting to hiring
  • Monitor the HR dashboard along with making process improvement to make sure Youth and Family Services is sufficiently staffed.
  • Effectively partner with hiring managers to define talent needs and job requirements in order to fill open positions in a timely manner.
  • Recruit talent through multiple social media platforms including LinkedIn and resume databases. Experience with LinkedIn Recruiter preferred.
  • Manage the entire recruiting process including reviewing job requirements, posting jobs in Peoplesoft and social media platforms, identifying qualified candidates and submitting individuals to hiring managers,
  • Provide training to internal customers in recruiting process, including interviewing techniques and provide subject matter expertise on recruiting issues.

 

  • Build relationships/strong partnerships with Hiring Managers and other key stakeholders while providing a high level of customer service.


Requirements

Experience: Three years HR Generalist or progressively responsible experience in the various HR functions; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Depending on area of assignment, candidates need to be versed in employment law, performance management systems, compensation and/or benefits.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or Human Resources.

 

Equivalent Experience for Education Accepted? Yes

Licenses and Certifications: North Carolina or South Carolina Driver’s License. Must be able to obtain and maintain a County Operator’s Permit.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

• Current PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification.
• Experience using PeopleSoft software.
