The goal is to fill this position as a Human Resource Analyst 3. However, we encourage applicants who meet the underfill qualifications for the Human Resource Analyst 2 to apply.  Employees hired into the Human Resource Analyst 2 level position will be re-classified to the Human Resource Analyst 3 upon passing trial service and meeting the minimum qualifications for that classification. 

What you will do!

As a HR Business Partner, you will provide a full range of professional employee relation recommendations, advice, and assistance to executives, managers, and employees. You will serve as a senior HR consultant for a diverse and broad customer base, requiring the incumbent to independently provide consistent and accurate recommendations regarding employee relation matters to ensure statewide perspective in all personnel-related actions.

Requirements

What we are looking for:

  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • Human Resource Analyst 3 ($5032-$7070)- A Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Organizational Behavior or Development, Business or Public Administration, the Applied Behavioral Sciences, Industrial Relations or a job-related course of study determined by the appointing authority; and three years of Human Resource professional-level experience related to the position; OR valid certification as a Professional in Human Resource awarded by the Human Resource Certification Institute and four years Human Resource professional-level experience related to the position; OR six years Human Resource experience related to the position. Four of the six years must have been at the professional-level. (A Master's degree in any of the above listed courses of study may substitute for one year of professional-level experience.)
    • Human Resource Analyst 2 Underfill ($4363-$6117)-A bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Organizational Behavior or Development, Business or Public Administration, the Applied Behavioral Sciences, Industrial Relations or a job-related course of study determined by the appointing authority; and two years of Human Resource professional-level experience related to the position; OR valid Certification as a Professional in Human Resource awarded by the Human Resource Certification Institute, and three years Human Resource professional-level experience related to the position; OR five years Human Resource experience related to the position. Three of the five years must have been at the professional-level. A master's degree in any of the above listed courses of study may substitute for one year of professional-level experience.
  • Requested Skills
    • Experience conducting HR investigations and making recommendations.
    • Experience providing consultation to all levels of employees. 
    • Experience serving as a strategic partner with union stewards, union representatives, managers, and employees to explore issues and common interests in order to problem solve and negotiate resolution whenever possible.
    • Strong communication skills (oral and written).
    • Team player with ability to work independently.
    • High attention to detail.
  • Preference may be given to bilingual/bi-cultural candidates.
