The HR Business Partner (HRBP) is responsible for delivery of both strategic and tactical HR support and programs to business leadership and team members. This position will also work with the leadership team in defining and stewarding the company culture and establishing and maintaining a high-performance culture and workplace. The HRBP is responsible for aligning the 20/20 Flight Plan with leadership and team members through the Team Member Experience and Talent Management programs. The HRBP collaborates cross functionally to deliver HR services and solutions in line with function or business unit strategy (Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, Compensation, Benefits, Employee Relations, HRIS).

  • Designs and executes strategies to increase organization, team and individual performance to improve the business's capabilities to deliver against its goals.
  • Leverages HR / business skills and knowledge to challenge or influence leadership in decision-making processes.
  • Participates in the development of corporate human resource strategies; champions the vision, mission and strategic plan.
  • Keeps Human Resources leadership and other senior management advised on trends, issues and areas of concern. Provides forward-looking, strategic counsel to internal business partners.
  • Role model, champion and drive the culture transformation and facilitate change management.
  • Participates in business strategy and planning meetings and works closely with business leaders to ensure the application of human resource policies and programs, and works to ensure a positive team member experience.
  • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group and business leaders to develop solutions, programs and policies to improve the team member experience, retention and development of team members.
  • Monitors the team member climate; conducts regular organization assessments to diagnose critical human resource issues, identifies problems and areas of concern and works proactively and preemptively with management to resolve them.
  • Works closely with management and team members to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Provides guidance and training to leadership on subjects related to human resources and management skills needed to manage the workforce, including selection, coaching, performance management, career development, and disciplinary actions.
  • Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, realignments, workforce planning and succession planning.
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations. Advises and counsels business leaders on employee relations issues and recommended actions and outcomes.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of team members, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed/required.
  • Monitors compliance regarding legal and government regulations affecting human resources, health, and safety. Ensures that compliance programs are carried out.
  • Stays abreast of applicable human resources regulations and trends; utilizes this knowledge in day-to-day activities.



Education Level: Bachelor's Degree
Course of Study/Major: Human Resources or related
Related Work Experience: 6-8 years

  • Working knowledge of multiple human resources disciplines, including compensation practices, organization design, employee and/or union relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
  • Knowledge of the HR field including employment laws and regulations.
  • Extensive knowledge of the principles and practices of organizational development/effectiveness/behavior with the ability to positively impact the structure, culture, and effectiveness of the organization.
  • Strong business acumen, in-depth knowledge of the business and client group, and the ability to effectively implement HR Strategies to support business goals.
  • Proven ability to build strong partnerships and work collaboratively with leaders and HR partners.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including effective listening, writing and presentation.
  • Strong influencing, negotiation, and facilitation skills with the ability to foster and maintain collaborative relationships with business leaders and HR peers.
  • Proven ability to resolve a wide range of issues in creative ways.
  • Excellent project management, organizational and planning skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to deal with and resolve ambiguous, confidential, and sensitive situations and issues of a complex nature while providing flexible solutions
