Basic Purpose:

Serve as the Human Resource business partner to the Administration teams at Eaton Vance.  Influence business strategies and decisions to ensure that they are aligned with the organization’s Human Resource strategy, taking into account employee and organizational implications while achieving business objectives. 

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Coach and advise business leaders with the leadership and management of their teams while providing consistent application of policies and procedures.
  • Develop and apply a strong understanding of the clients’ business to assess issues and identify solutions to support the business unit.
  • Develop strategies to acquire, develop and retain talent to the meet the clients business needs.
  • Collaborates with Human Resources functions (Talent Acquisition, Learning and Development, HRIS, Benefits and Compensation) that deliver value-added solutions to the clients business.
  • Provide counsel and problem resolution in the areas of performance management, employee relations issues, and organizational development. 
  • Work with clients to manage the employee life cycle, including promotions, transfers, and voluntary and non-voluntary employee separations.
  • Work closely with clients to create a productive team environment that aligns with Eaton Vance’s Core Values.
  • Share knowledge across the Human Resources team that enhances team capabilities.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 8 years of HR generalist experience.  Investment management industry experience preferred.
  • Extensive experience in developing and executing HR strategies and programs.
  • Proven experience delivering value-added solutions and building trusted relationships with management and employees.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects with tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated business acumen and sound judgement. 
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills with a demonstrated ability to build relationships with senior and executive leaders.
  • Strong alignment with Eaton Vance Core Values
  • Strong knowledge of organizational development, employment law, employee relations, diversity & inclusion, performance management, and federal and state employment laws.
  • Possesses exceptional customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment
