Benefits/HR Manager (Contractor - possible conversion to employee)

Responsibilities:

  • Administer fully insured benefits plans including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, flexible spending plans, life insurance.
  • Maintain benefits eligibility, enrollment and all records on benefits to include auditing and processing of weekly benefit transmission files.
  • Answer questions in a timely manner; provide guidance and assistance regarding benefit eligibility, levels of coverage, and claims procedures for employees, supervisors, and vendors.
  • Ensure the accuracy of all benefit enrollments in the HRIS system and the transmission of the enrollments to the vendors through the regular review and auditing. Troubleshoots issues as needed.
  • Act as a liaison between employees and benefit vendors to answer questions and ensure speedy resolution of issues.
  • Support the accurate and efficient processing of benefit reimbursements as well as reconciliation of payroll adjustments (as needed).
  • Assist in various requests including timely responses to audit inquiries, assist in developing and preparing reports, letters and spreadsheets.
  • Responsible for COBRA administration and off-boarding actions as needed.
  • Assist with new hire benefits orientation and support benefit enrollment.
  • Manage immigration visa and green card cases.
  • HR Generalist duties as needed.
  • Coordinate with third party leave administrator when employees go out on leave.
  • Responsible for tracking, reporting and ensuring compliance with the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

 

Requirements

Skill/requirements

  • BA/BS Degree in related field preferred
  • 2-4 years of relevant professional experience
  • Exceptional customer service skills; strong sense of urgency and desire for excellence
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Prior experience managing immigration cases.
  • Experience as an HR Generalist
  • HR Systems experience or related experience preferred
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing, at all levels of the organization
  • Manages confidential information with a high level of confidentiality and discretion
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment through strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Ability to evaluate problems and determine proper course of action
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills; including PowerPoint, Project and Excel skills are ideal
