General Summary:

  • Coordinates all Health and Welfare benefits programs including design/renewal, implementation and administration. 

  • Provides information, communications, training and support to employees, plan vendors and third party administrators. 

  • Responsible to ensure all programs follow established procedures and regulatory guidelines. 

  • Oversees all aspects of administration of employee health and welfare programs (e.g., medical, dental, vision, life, STD, LTD 401(k), 457 (b) (f), FSA, educational assistance, leaves of absence (FMLA, NJFLA, NJFLI, NJTDI, ADA, COBRA, WC, Safety, etc.). 

  • Coordinates open enrollments, employee briefings and distribution of informational materials. 

  • Administers hires/terms, life events, disability administration, COBRA, life/add claims, beneficiary information, QDROs and QMCSOs etc. 

  • Investigates discrepancies and provides information in routine and non-routine situations to all involved.

  • Resolves administrative problems with providers. Ensures all “Plan” documents Summary Plan Descriptions (SPD’s) and communications are current, maintained and distributed within required time periods.  

  • Oversees management of confidential benefits files in accordance with all required regulatory guidelines.  

  • Develops communication tools to enhance understanding of the Network’s benefits offerings.

  • Designs and distributes materials for benefits orientations, open enrollments and plan implementations as necessary.

  • Provides training and support to Executive, HR, managers, supervisors and staff in all aspects of benefits as appropriate for each group.

  • Responsible for employee health program activities including post offer, follow-up and annual testing. 

  • Serves as liaison to off-site medical facilities.  Ensures all medical results documented, reviewed, communicated and follow-up testing conducted and documented accordingly within required time frames.

  • Administers Worker’s Compensation program in coordination with NJ Manufacturers.

  • Coordinates safety program activities, training and reporting. Tracks and trends accidents and incidents. Researches related causes and recommends and implements corrective actions and follow-up.  

  • Audits and prepares reports in accordance with NJSN Safety Programs guidelines. Files required OSHA Reports, Conducts desktop audits.

  • Reviews and updates NJSN Safety-008 program.  

  • Facilitates/participates as member of NJSN Safety Committee. Presents and makes recommendations and helps facilitate safety awareness for all staff.

  • Provides back-up for other human resources department staff for Recruitment, HR portal, HRIS and other administrative responsibilities. 

Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • 3 to 5 years of HR experience required.
  • Knowledge of HRIS required. ADP WFN preferred.
  • Knowledge of state and federal employment laws and procedures, compensation strategies and human resources policies.
