The Global Benefits Manager provides operational leadership and functional subject matter expertise in support of the design and delivery of the CFA Institute’s Total Rewards strategy. This position will design, implement, administer, and communicate the organization’s full suite of global benefits offerings, including its health and welfare plans, retirement plans, leave programs, well-being programs and other ancillary benefits.

As a member of the Total Rewards team, the Global Benefits Manager participates in other work within the team’s responsibility, including special projects and employment-related programs. This position is responsible for and will be held accountable for the appropriate handling of highly confidential matters and materials.

The position will be headquartered in Charlottesville, VA and will report to the Head, Total Rewards.

Requirements

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ direct experience in global employee benefits administration
  • Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designation or equivalent preferred
  • Experience working on global employee benefits programs with extensive knowledge of best practices and a demonstrable interest in international issues
  • Extensive knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply applicable laws and regulations relating to employee benefits, including ERISA, FMLA, and global equivalents
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to compile, analyze, interpret and present employee information and data accurately and with attention to detail
  • Global cultural orientation and working experience
  • Fluency in English required; knowledge of additional languages would be useful
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including a professional and diplomatic demeanor
  • Excellent communication skills including written, verbal, listening, and presentation. Demonstrable ability to interact with employees across the organization at all levels.
  • Proficient using standard office software, such as MS Office Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook; HRIS experience is preferred, ideally in Workday
