CSHRP Executive Director

The Executive Director for CSHRP (the California Strategic Human Resource Partnership) plays a pivotal role in the running and successful delivery of programs for this nonprofit HR consortium. Founded in 1993, CSHRP has been delivering quality programs to senior HR executives and their staff in the Bay area for more than 25 years.

CSHRP delivers six to eight programs every year for senior executives and their staff on topics of significant importance to the delivery of increased value to member companies. Both the topics, content and presenters are determined and developed by the Executive Director. Topics and content are determined by one-on-one conversations with members twice a year.

The Executive Director is the key administrator and major faculty member of the CSHRP HR Executive Development Program, a state-of-the-art executive development program designed and run by CSHRP faculty. This includes managing the nomination of new participants, communication with the participants and their CHROs, working with the faculty, and delivering a major part of the program content.

The Executive Director continues to seek out innovative current and future trends in HR to communicate to CSHRP members and inform the nature of the programs offered. The Executive Director determines the marketing strategy, all social media outreach and website content, as well as expanding the CSHRP brand as a go-to source of up to date and relevant content for HR leaders.

The Executive Director screens and nominates potential members to be approved by the Board of Directors. This includes substantial outreach and informing interested executives about the value of CSHRP membership.

The Executive Director manages all logistics and budgets, supervises a part-time administrator and contract accountant, and oversees the filing of appropriate tax returns and other documents.

The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors, seven members who are elected to three-year terms, and arranges board meetings as appropriate. The Board approves the budget and programs for each coming year. The Executive Director communicates with the Board on an ongoing basis and is in regular communication with the Board Chair.

This is currently a part-time contractor role, averaging about 15-20 hours a week. Someone new in the role will most likely require more time. Most of the work can be done remotely, except for the CSHRP sessions, and meetings at the CSHRP office near the San Jose airport.
