Reporting to the COO, we seek a take charge, creative, hands-on executive with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who can establish rapport and respect across all levels of the organization.

 Position Summary

Leads Unity Health Care’s (UHC) Employee Experiences functions and strategy in accordance with the policies and practices of Unity Health Care (UHC), and in compliance with federal, state and local guidance and regulatory practices.  As a leader, business partner, coach, consultant and advisor, this senior level position is responsible for overseeing a team of human resources professionals who provide the organization with the best people talent available and to position UHC as the Employer of Choice. Enhances UHC business and human resources programs and practices by staying abreast of policies, practices, and trends within community health and the healthcare industry. Areas include Benefits, Compensation, Compliance & Credentialing, Employee Relations, HRIS, Performance Management, Recruitment, Training & Development, Safety & Occupational Health, and Succession Planning.

 Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and consulting support to UHC executives and management in translating the strategic and tactical business plans into HR strategic and operational plans.
  • Builds rapport and relationships with management and employees to maintain a reputation as a resource and confidante.
  • Actively engages, collaborates, and partners with leaders and employees alike to develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives, enhance employee engagement, and improve working relationships to drive positive business results.
  • Monitors, evaluates and streamlines existing human resources and business processes and programs to maximize efficiency, effectiveness and service delivery.
  • Maintains knowledge of industry trends, employment legislation and regulatory requirements ensuring the organization remains compliant.
  • Creates, interprets, updates and implements human resources policies and procedures and ensures they are understood and complied with across the organization.
  • Oversees employee recruitment and onboarding; develops and implements recruiting strategies to attract qualified candidates in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Consults with and counsels managers and employees on human resources issues and works toward problem resolutions relating to performance management, corrective action, compensation, and workplace investigations; manages escalated employee disputes or personnel matters, consulting legal or other HR partners as appropriate
  • Oversees the development and administration of UHC’s employee compensation, welfare and benefits programs; develops progressive and proactive programs to attract top talent and provide motivation, incentives and rewards for effective performance
  • Ensures compliance and reporting functions are effectively established, implemented, monitored and refreshed as needs and requirements change.
  • Ensures performance management and organization feedback is effectively implemented across the organization and monitored for effectiveness and opportunities for improvement.
  • Identifies and implements strategies, programs and activities that create a supportive, pleasing culture, foster employee engagement and bolster employee morale.
  • Serves as a change agent to positively impact organizational effectiveness; provides guidance and coaching to leadership team on change management and implements change management efforts throughout the organization.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources or related field required.  
  • Ten to fifteen years of progressively increasing human resources experience with at least five years in a leadership role, supervising others.
  • Senior level experience in the following areas:  staffing and recruitment, employee relations, employee engagement, diversity, and/or corporate compliance.

 Preferred Qualifications

  • PHR/SPHR certification a plus.  
  • Experience with industry leading HRIS a plus.
  • Law degree a plus.
