Employee Engagement Specialist – Denver

Rocky Mountain Public Media, home to Rocky Mountain PBS and KUVO Jazz radio, is the largest statewide, member-supported, multi-media network in Colorado. Rocky Mountain Public Media’s mission is to strengthen the civic fabric in communities throughout Colorado, engaging audiences through high-quality, trusted programming, community programs and partnerships, and educational initiatives that inform, enlighten and entertain. To further this mission, Rocky Mountain Public Media seeks a full-time Employee Engagement Specialist.

 DESCRIPTION:   The Employee Engagement Specialist is an entry level position. The position requires a balance between customer service skills and strong administrative skills with a proficiency in using technology. Under the direction of the Chief Culture Officer, the Employee Engagement Specialist will implement and coordinate the talent acquisition strategy.  This is a great opportunity for someone committed to improving the employee experience, interested in helping other people, and has ambitions to expand their career into more advanced HR or employee benefits client support roles.

TYPICAL DUTIES:  Talent Acquisition and Onboarding:  Write and place job postings and advertisements.  Assist in developing a network and pipeline of experienced talent. Resume screening, phone interviews and in-office interview coordination.  Conduct recruitment correspondence with candidates, including offer letters, phone and e-mail status updates, etc.  Liaison for placement agencies and other recruiting partnerships.  Coordinate and Attend Career Fairs.  Provide communication and updates to hiring team.  Assist with pre-employment background checks.  Responsible for effective onboarding of all new hires and carrying out orientation activities.  Assist Chief Culture Officer with Employee Relations, as needed.  Engagement events.  Assist with engagement committees.  Assist with internal communication. Human Resources SharePoint Site.  All-Staff Emails and Notifications.  Management of Training and Events Calendar.  Other Duties:  Assist Chief Culture Officer with implementing all-staff training plan.  Backup support for Front Desk.  Other tasks as required


QUALIFICATIONS:  High School Diploma or Equivalent.  2-3 years administrative experience in a support role. Demonstrated knowledge and experience with MS Office, particularly MS Excel is required.  Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Positive and energetic team-oriented attitude.  Associate’s degree in Human Resources or related field.  1-2 years prior experience working in human resources.  Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.  Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work professionally with persons at all levels.  Exceptional time management and organizational skills.  Ability to handle sensitive matters on a confidential basis.  Attention to Detail.  Teamwork.  Professionalism.
