The Employee Benefits Manager will be responsible for partnering in the development of benefit programs to include: medical, dental, life and disability insurance plans and 401(k), pensions, deferred compensation plans and stock ownership/purchase plans, then seeing them through to implementation, administration, audit and compliance processes as well as aligning all benefit offerings with policies and procedures. They will further oversee the team responsible for day to day benefits administration. 

Oversee the overall benefits administrative and planning processes of all group benefit programs.

  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements.
  • Manage the administrative process related to annual benefits plan compliance audits and regulatory filings.
  • Ensure plan documents, agreements and other benefit materials are maintained in the required, compliant systems for easy access when requested.
  • Day to day administrator for the following plans; Executive Excess Deferred Compensation Plan, Long Term Incentive Deferred Compensation Plan, 401 K Savings Plan & Stock Incentive Plan.
  • Lead the compliant distribution of all documents to plan participants as regulatory requirements dictate.
  • Oversee of the benefits section of the employee Intranet.
  • Support and analysis of benefits programs of acquired companies.
  • Plan and carry out the administrative integration of programs and related data management into the Company's standard programs and systems.
  • Ensure day to day compliance of benefits administration duties, including claims resolution, and communication of general benefits information to all employees.
  • Audit and monitor employee eligibility for benefits plans.
  • Audit enrollments, cancellations or changes to ensure all are accurately and compliantly processed in all vendor and corporate systems including payroll deductions.
  • Manage any needed discrepancy resolution.Organize and manage annual open enrollment communications and election processes.
  • Regularly audit the administration of COBRA for group health plans.
  • Ensure that all plan documents, communications and brochures are up to date, filed as required for compliance.
  • Lead and plan events that provide employee education and insight on benefit offerings.
  • Continuous evaluation of internal processes and focus on improvements to reduce costs and increase efficiency.


  • 5 years managing, leading implementation and design of employee benefit programs required.
  • 2 years managing a small team of employee benefits specialist or HR Generalist.
  • Experience in a publicly traded company and assisting with the administration of Employee Stock Award and Purchase programs.
  • Prior experience serving as a leader that supports the people programs and initiatives of a multi-state, mid-size to large, publicly held employer.
  • Knowledge of HR and Payroll systems including View Point and/or ADP
  • Knowledge of utilizing HR technology to provide information to employees on benefits as driven from the core HRIS System.
  • Proficient computer skills and in-depth knowledge of relevant software such as Microsoft Office, Adobe and Excel.
  • Active PHR or SHRM affiliated certification is preferred.
  • Active CEBS (Certified Employee Benefits Specialist) preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Human Resources or a related field.
