Employee Benefit Associate

Full-time opportunity to work for a local insurance professional with an expanding employee benefit practice providing Group Life, Group Short and Long Term Disability, Group Long Term Care, and 401(k) Retirement plans to small to mid-size businesses. We offer a competitive base salary and the work environment is very active, challenging and fun.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting clients and participants with administration of employee benefit and retirement plans
  • Obtaining competitive bids for RFP opportunities for potential clients
  • Analyzing and consolidating quotes; preparing employee benefit proposals
  • Preparing for employee communication and implementation meetings
  • Handling client service questions related to billing, claims and account management
  • Taking clients through renewal process and preparing market analysis
  • Maintaining client files and client database to reflect changes and current information
  • Understanding numerous carrier websites from the broker, client and participant perspectives

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Minimum two years experience in Employee Benefit Plan Administration or Retirement Plan Servicing and Administration is mandatory
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and an acute attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Professionalism and customer-centric focus is must
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred Education:

Current SHRM-CP designation or Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designation preferred

Job prerequisites includes passing a background check and obtaining a Life, Accident and Health license within 6 months of employment.
