Employee Accommodations Manager

San Francisco State University a large, comprehensive, urban university located in a vibrant and beautiful city with a rich intellectual and cultural life is seeking applications for the position of Employee Accommodations Manager (EAM). For more than 100 years, the University has distinguished itself as an active center of academic scholarship, creative innovation, and civic involvement. SF State is a culturally and linguistically diverse campus that is part of the 23-campus California State University system with a commitment to internationalizing the curriculum and the university at large.

The EAM is responsible for all aspects of the coordination and provision of accommodations for qualified employees with temporary or permanent disabilities, including facilitating the interactive process among appropriate stakeholders and ensuring that reasonable accommodations are provided timely, efficiently and effectively. The EAM manages employee accommodation plans and records, including confidential medical and health information. The EAM works collaboratively with Human Resources and Environmental Health and Safety, particularly with regard to employees requesting accommodations who have workers compensation claims or Family Medical Leave requests.

The EAM conducts research; assesses compliance with ADAA, Section 504, and Section 508, FEHA and other appropriate legislation and policies; and, reports/presents findings as appropriate. The EAM conducts training and develops projects/programs to promote disability awareness, inclusion and compliance.

The EAM provides assistance to the Associate Director and Director as requested, including representing the Disability Programs and Resource Center in meetings, on committees, in the development of guidance and process improvement, in report generation and presentations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, (i.e., Counseling, Rehabilitation Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work)
  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressive responsibility in the development and management of programs and/or services, preferably for people from an underrepresented population (disability, gender, race, socio-economic, etc.)
  • Some local travel and evening/weekend hours required
