Director, Talent Programs

The Talent Management function in JM Family is growing!  We are looking for a Director of Talent Programs who has experience creating and delivering enterprise wide talent related programs such as Talent and Succession Planning, Strategic Workforce Planning, Performance Management, Executive Coaching, Career Planning, and Onboarding.The candidate will work closely with the Director of Talent Development and will partner with key HR, business and external stakeholders  to create and deliver programs that ensure JM Family has a ready bench of talent to meet the current and future organizational needs.  

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of credibility with senior leaders and have demonstrated a blended strategic mindset and strong execution to deliver impactful talent related programs to organizations.  The candidate must be highly adaptable, comfortable working in ambiguity and be willing to challenge the status quo. This candidate will report to the AVP of Talent Management.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Create the vision and strategy for talent related enterprise programs which ensure JM Family has skilled talent now and in the future.
  • Build and scale enterprise approaches, methodologies and frameworks for new and evolved programs which support building a skilled workforce including: strategic workforce planning, talent/succession planning, career planning, onboarding, coaching, and performance management.
  • Develop communications and marketing approaches to help promote the capabilities and full utilization of our tools and processes.
  • Use data, trends and insights from HR & business partners to design programs aligned with our broader talent management strategy.
  • Lead a team of program managers to create, integrate, and deliver effective talent approaches/solutions for the business.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to create linkages to fill talent gaps.
  • Actively collaborate with People Strategy Partners to provide guidance and education to leadership at the highest levels across all business lines on new programs and initiatives.
  • Partner with peers and senior leaders to discover and evaluate senior leader development needs and design and scale effective enterprise leader development solutions.
  • Develop close partnerships with COEs and other stakeholders to ensure programs & frameworks are aligned with business needs.
  • Establish quality expectations and ensure that vendors meet delivery and quality criteria.
  • Lead communications for internal stakeholders; design and lead necessary training to support talent process implementation across the organization.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience, Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a talent management or similar strategic HR leadership role - with demonstrated success leading large and complex talent strategies and programs across an enterprise footprint including Strategic Workforce Planning, Talent/Succession Planning, Career Planning, Onboarding, Coaching, and Performance Management.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing talent programs that align to company culture and drive cultural outcomes and link to business outcomes. 
  • Demonstrated abilities in developing strategic plans and initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success in planning and leading at both the strategic and operational level.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze trends, data, and leverage organizational statistics and business performance data to influence talent strategy and roadmap.
  • Demonstrated experience making significant decisions, judgments and recommendations. Strong ability to identify, communicate and/or make trade-off decisions.
  • Experience in business relationship management, inclusive of consulting, issue diagnosis and educating leaders on a wide variety of Talent Programs and initiatives. 
  • Experience implementing technology to scale Talent Management programs and initiatives.
  • Ability to create and foster strong cross-functional networks.
  • Highly skilled at building trust and influence, driving for results with and through people. 
  • Proven ability to manage and lead projects to successful completion.
  • Demonstrated skills with written and oral communications, including presentations.
  • Works well in a fast-paced environment with multiple/changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Proven ability to manage and lead through change.
