BRIDGE Housing strengthens communities by developing, owning and managing high-quality, affordable homes for working families and seniors. We are looking for an experienced Director of Human Resources to join our team!

The Director will be responsible for oversight of employment policies and initiatives at BRIDGE Housing Corporation and BRIDGE Property Management Company. Specific areas of focus include oversight of the workers’ compensation process, investigation and resolution of employee relations issues, and implementation of HR policies and programs.

The Director reports to the Vice President of HR and works closely with the HR team to maintain a positive environment for all staff. This position requires a high level of tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality, as well as the ability to think and act strategically.

Responsibilities

  • Assist VP with strategic planning initiatives, annual business plan, and department budget
  • Develop a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion plan and manage ongoing initiatives
  • Provide guidance to managers regarding specific employee matters such as performance improvement plans, employee relations issues, and compensation changes
  • Manage Injury and Illness Prevention Program and work to minimize workplace safety hazards
  • Maintain Payfactors database and ensure adherence to compensation structure
  • Maintain awareness of applicable employment laws and ensure that company policies are in compliance
  • Oversee annual and ongoing compliance activities such as distribution of required notices and government reporting
  • Collect and analyze employee feedback in various formats and recommend new or updated policies to improve employee engagement
  • Establish and oversee training and development plan for managers and executives
  • Oversee annual performance evaluation process and lead managers in determining appropriate compensation changes
  • Coordinate annual benefits renewal process with USI broker team
  • Visit BRIDGE properties periodically and as needed to address employee issues
  • Evaluate and select external vendors to support HR processes as needed
  • Mentor HR Generalist and Admin roles

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and five to seven years of relevant experience
  • Experience with implementation of various HR policies and programs
  • Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now or similar HRIS
  • Demonstrated knowledge of CA employment laws and regulations
  • Good judgment and critical thinking skills
  • Commitment to BRIDGE’s business philosophy and mission
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office programs
  • Superior organizational skills with proven ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Valid CA driver’s license
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred
