Job Title

Director of Human Resources, Organizational Effectiveness and Talent Services


In alignment with the Inclusion and Human Resources Vision and Mission, lead and direct human resources partnership services and associated functions, with a focus on employee engagement, talent development and organizational effectiveness and planning. Develop and foster effective and trusted relationships with NCAA leadership and staff.

Job Function

Employee Engagement and Culture Development Services


  • Cultivate and lead thought leadership, program development and operational oversight for measuring, improving and driving employee engagement.
  • Partner with group leaders to foster and develop group engagement, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Facilitate and oversee the employee relations process, including establishing a case management process and system for record keeping, using a consistent employee relations methodology, developing employee relations analytics and related actionable improvements or adjustments, and gathering relevant information to effectively and consistently resolve employment and organizational issues.
  • Advise, guide and support leadership and staff members on a variety of employee relations matters including resolving differences and conflicts, managing performance issues including through progressive discipline, coaching and other developmental learning tools or resources, and effective and consistent application of organizational policies and practices.
  • Manage the organization’s formal response to the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission or other regulatory bodies, as needed.


Talent Acquisition and Development Services:


  •    Oversight and leadership of the talent acquisition process, including leading and managing searches for executive level talent, and development of strategies and networks to pipeline and build strong, diverse candidate pools.
  • Establish and implement a comprehensive talent management strategy, to include talent assessments, succession planning and ongoing performance management process.
  • Strategic development, delivery and tracking of compliance-based and development training, delivery and record keeping through the learning management system (LMS).


Organizational Effectiveness and Planning.

  • Provide expertise and thought leadership on topics such as change management organization and workforce planning.
  • Assess strategic needs, conduct workforce assessments and identify gaps between current capabilities and future needs, to future-proof the NCAA national office staff and services.
  • Establish systems of HR accountability, service and performance standards and measures of success against established metrics
  • Building strong partnerships with colleagues, the business, and external partners to help identify, develop and accomplish initiatives within the function.
  • Lead the human resources partnership function and supporting colleagues through the various stages of the employee lifecycle.

  • Bachelor's degree required; Advanced Degree Preferred.
  • Seven years’ progressive experience in professional business and human resources function(s).
  • Knowledge of and continuing education on employment-related laws.
  • PHR, SHRM – CP or similar certification.
