U.S. Retirement & Benefit Partners (USRBP) is an independent national financial services firm specializing in public school and governmental employee benefits plans and employer-sponsored retirement plans. The business was formed in 2008 and today is the largest independent specialist serving the K-12 market with over one million clients nationally.

We are looking to add a Director to our Human Resources department. The Director of Human Resources will join our senior leadership team and will work closely with the CEO and CFO to develop and execute HR strategy, policies and procedures and oversee all aspects of Human Resources.

JOB DESCRIPTION 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Drive and develop the HR department to support a fast-growing business.

  • Review and oversee employee policies.

  • Ensure compliance with federal and local laws; this includes auditing new hire paperwork, pre-employment requirements, EEO reporting, FMLA, State Disability, COBRA, HIPAA, etc.

  • Ensures all “Plan” documents Summary Plan Descriptions (SPD’s) and communications are current, maintained and distributed within required time periods.

  • Maintain and manage the annual benefits open enrollment process, including preparing communications for employees and partnering with affiliated brokers.

  • Manage biweekly payroll processing, auditing and approving all payroll/HRIS updates (including new hires, salary changes, etc.).

  • Manage the Payroll & Benefits Administrator.

  • Responsible for working with affiliated brokers to establish, review and change if necessary, the company wide benefits program.

  • Manage and implement conversion of benefits of acquired companies to that of USRBP.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years broad-based human resource experience in a fast-paced environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.

  • Strong generalist background that includes exposure to all facets of the human resources function including employee relations, benefits, compensation, staffing, etc.

  • Proven knowledge of labor laws, reporting requirements, and government regulations.

  • Superior problem-solving skills combined with the ability to objectively analyze current practices, identify improvement opportunities, build consensus and implement appropriate changes.

  • Strong business acumen combined with highly developed interpersonal, analytical, problem solving, leadership, and communication skills.

  • Hands-on management experience to direct day-to-day operations in the resolution of employee relations issues.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced growing organization.

  • Proven ability to partner across the organization and provide coaching, leadership and strategy execution to senior leadership team.

  • Strong relationship building and people management skills.
