COMPANY OVERVIEW

Mini-Circuits designs, manufactures and distributes integrated circuits, modules, and sub-systems for high performance radio frequency (RF) and microwave applications.  With design, sales and manufacturing locations in over 30 countries, Mini-Circuits’ products are used in a range of wired and wireless communications applications. Our products are also used in detection, measurement and imaging applications, including military communication, guidance and electronic countermeasure systems, commercial, scientific, military land, sea and aircraft; automotive systems, medical systems, and industrial test equipment.

Mini-Circuits’ sells its products to over 20,000 customers globally through our direct sales force, applications engineering staff, sales representatives, as well as through our extensive web site.

 

POSITION SUMMARY

  • To be the HR business partner to the Company.
  • To be a “role up the sleeve” leader of the daily and strategic activities of an HR department that supports a domestic, non-union employee population of 500.
  • To keep the Company legally compliant at all times with the gamut of federal and local employment laws that are constantly changing.  
  • To develop “Best Practices” for HR policies & benefits, talent management (including performance reviews, succession planning & career counseling), compensation and employee relations so that Mini-Circuits continues to be an employer of choice.
  • To initiate and implement workforce values in line with Company values, by planning, creating, rolling out and managing HR programs and that contribute to the Company’s future.
  • As a member of our management team, to be a supportive counselor and role model to our multi-cultural, engineering, operational, sales and production teams.

 

JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Support management by providing human resources advice, counsel and decisions; analyzing information and applications.
  • Develop people strategies by identifying areas for improvement so that our employees continue to enjoy the “family values” mantra of the Company.
  • Provide leadership and be a mentor to the HR Team.
  • Responsible for the continuous improvement and administration of the daily HR functions. These include benefits, talent acquisition & retention, onboarding, employee relations, performance and compensation plans, policy development and succession planning.
  • Along with a Sr. HR Specialist, Corporate Recruiter and HR Generalist, ensure compliance with federal, state and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions in advance.
  • Enhance department and organization by exploring new opportunities that add value to HR department accomplishments.
  • Maximize the benefits and capabilities of a robust HRIS system, currently ADP Workforce Now.
  • Employee Relations – along with the HR staff mentioned above, and the applicable department managers, conduct progressive disciplinary actions, facilitate investigations, and take corrective actions and follow-up for improvement.        
  • In tandem with our in-house Training Specialist, develop and facilitate training matrixes, career paths, and other programs through a variety of learning methods, including our new Learning Management System.
  • Hands-on involvement and improvement of our Performance Management System, pay grades, reviews, promotions, PIPs, etc.
  • Related administrative tasks are essential functions of this position.

 

Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Labor/Industrial Relations, Business or a related field is required. Master’s Degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ progressive HR experience, preferably in a multi-cultural, manufacturing environment, of which 5+ years is at the Manager or higher level.
  • Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now and/or other HRIS systems at a high user level
  • Direct experience is required in:
    • Full-cycle talent acquisition (from sourcing to developing career paths)
    • Creative talent sourcing for “difficult to fill” positions
    • Legal compliance with federal and state employment laws, e.g., FLSA, ERISA, FMLA, PFL, ACA, ADAA, 125 & 401K Plans, Workers’ Comp, Anti-Harassment
    • Benefits – all welfare, defined contribution retirement plans and voluntary benefits
    • Policy development, roll-out and administration
    • Talent and succession planning
    • Training and professional development (including career paths)
    • Employee relations: promoting the positive and resolving the challenging ones
    • AAP, EEO/Veterans/ADA compliance & government reporting
    • A self-starter who takes initiative and is a proactive agent for change.
    • Emotional intelligence, compassion and common sense
    • Proven ability to multi-tasking and manage various projects with competing deadlines.

  • Excellent computer skills including MS Office, MS Project and advanced Excel knowledge.
