We invite candidates to apply for our Director, Corporate Training and Continuing Education position. 

GENERAL SUMMARY: Directly responsible for the creation, development, implementation and growth of Corporate Training and Continuing Education programs to meet the needs of the community and business partners. Provides Administrative oversight, management, and operational support of the online Registration, Enrollment, Payment Non-Credit LMS System as well as the associated Merchant Accounts and Payment Gateways. Responsible for hiring, training, supervising and evaluating staff. Provides fiscal management and serves as the liaison for district-wide Continuing Education Programs, policies and procedures. Reports to the Vice President of Institutional Advancement. Responsible for demonstrating LSSC’s values of learning, people, student success, forward thinking, commitment to excellence, accessibility, diversity, partnerships, and sound management practices.

Position reports to: Vice President of Institutional Advancement

Incumbent supervises: Continuing Education Program Manager; Continuing Education Temporary Office Workers

Create, develop, implement and grow Corporate Training and Continuing Education programs to meet the needs of the community and business partners.

Develops and implements policies, procedures, and processes involved in the development and implementation of industry education offerings.  

Seek and maintain relevant business and community partnerships. Collaborate with partners in planning and administering customized contract training to meet the needs of the community and business partners.

Collaborates with staff to develop, market and promote all CE classes - contract training, customized training, and open enrollment classes.

Assess effectiveness to ensure quality using metrics of Return on Investment, enrollment and profitability.

Administer the department operating budget.

Provides administrative oversight in the recruiting and management of non-credit adjunct instructors. Recruits, selects, trains, supervises, and provides performance evaluations for continuing education staff.

Leads the continuous improvement of services offered by Continuing Education through coordinating evaluation and making recommendations for program revisions.

Represent the college at local, regional and state-wide meetings and functions. Serves on various college and other organizational committees.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

EDUCATION:

Master’s degree in related field. Bachelor’s degree and extensive experience in a supervisory/management role in related field may be substituted for Master’s degree as recommended by the hiring supervisory Vice President and approved by the President.                         

EXPERIENCE:    

Minimum of three years in an educational setting. Five years preferred. Three years of experience in management administration and corporate training.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Outstanding organizational and leadership ability; proven leadership in the areas of supervision, teaching, training, and motivating staff. Ability to plan, organize, direct, coordinate and monitor responsibilities and assigned tasks. Demonstrated technology skills. Excellent analytical, information management, and problem-solving skills. Effective communication and human relations skills. Ability to research, investigate, develop recommendations, implement and evaluate procedures and services related to assigned areas of responsibility.Strong student/customer service orientation. Ability to maintain a positive and productive relationship with students, faculty, staff, administration and members of the community.
