Job Summary:

Develops policy and directs and coordinates human resources activities, such as employment, compensation, labor
relations, benefits, training, and employee services by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate
supervisors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepares personnel forecast to project employment needs.
• Writes directives advising department managers of company policy regarding equal employment opportunities, compensation, and employee benefits.
• Develops and maintains a human resources system that meets top management information needs.
• Oversees the analysis, maintenance, and communication of records required by law or local governing bodies, or other departments in the organization.
• Studies legislation, arbitration decisions, and collective bargaining contracts to assess industry trends.
• Represents management in negotiating collective bargaining agreements.
• Writes and delivers presentations to corporate officers or government officials regarding human resources policies
and practices.
• Provide consultation to management on strategic staffing plans, compensation, benefits, training and development, organizational development, employee relations, and labor relations.
• Effectively, develop, implement, and manage human resource-related initiatives that support HP Hood’s strategic
operational goals.
• Develop, coach and mentor assigned HR personnel.
• Partner with local and divisional management to assist with employee transactions: – hiring, promotions, demotions, work related issues, corrective actions/memos of expectations and terminations.
• Monitor administration of key metrics data and health of human capital. Identify negative trends and quickly resolve with solutions aligned with strategic operational goals.
• Responsibility for communicating, implementing and monitoring affirmative action programs.
• Plans, organizes, and manage all HR related activities of the assigned division. Participates in developing divisional goals, objectives, and HR related systems.
• Implements and annually updates job descriptions as necessary; monitors performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
• Coordinates, internal/external training/educational activities for assigned division.
• Assists division with the development of training/educational curriculum and activities. Facilitate trainings as needed.
• Manage divisional, exempt recruitment efforts.
• Manager and monitor career pathing/performance management programs.
• Evaluate reports, decisions, and results of division relative to established goals. Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect and enhance continued improvements in efficiency of department and services
performed.


Education and Experience:

• BS/BA or equivalent experience. Minimum of 8 years of progressive human resources generalist experience required. 
Skills and Competencies:
• Experience with manufacturing focused company is desirable.
• Strong project management skills
• Managing and measuring work
• Ability to establish priorities and work independently.
• Strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills.
• Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
• Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to positively influence, build relationships, and interact with all levels in the
organization.
• Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and understanding of HR systems.
