Director of Human Resources

Responsibilities :

  • Guide and manage the overall provision of Human Resources services, policies, and programs for the entire company.

  • Recommend and establish policies and procedures to achieve company goals and objectives.

  • Establish and implement short and long range goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures for the Human Resources department.

  • Maintain employer-employee relationships that contribute to satisfactory productivity, motivation and morale.

  • Assist managers in preventing and resolving problems involving individuals which arise out of or affect work situations.

  • Oversee administration of collective bargaining agreements; provide support and counsel as needed.

  • Design, develop and manage compensation and benefits strategy and programs to ensure regulatory compliance and competitiveness.

  • Oversee the management of the Company’s strategic recruitment and selection plan, including completing the Company’s Affirmative Action Plan and ensuring compliance with OFCCP regulations and equal opportunity programs.

  • Create company strategic training and organizational development plan to meet personal, professional, and organizational needs (including company performance appraisal system, creation of annual training plan and matrix, employee development plans).

  • Responsible for responding to any employee complaints, either internally or through external agencies (i.e.. EEOC, NLRB).

  • Responsible for representing the Company during internal (IRIS, ISO, REX) and external audits (i.e., DOL).

  • Manages and guides all employment related lawsuits and third party challenges in the Human Resources area.

Requirements

Position/ Job Title: Director of Human Resources

Required Education: Bachelor Degree

Degree Field: Human Resource Management    

Required Work Experience: 8 or more Years of Relevant Experience

Direct Personnel: <5 employees         Indirect Personnel: 5-10 employees

Training/ Certifications: SHRM-SCP or SHRM-CP Preferred

 

Competencies (Min 4 Max 10)

 

  • Preferred MBA.

  • Comprehensive understanding of human resource principles, techniques and procedures.

  • Experienced in using HR strategies to assess and resolve human resource issues.

  • Ability to interact with all levels with comprehensive consultative, partnering, facilitating, and influencing/negotiating skills.

  • Significant experience in and/or knowledge of applicable human resource related statutes and regulations such as ADA, ADEA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, HIPAA, OSHA and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

  • Critical thinking

  • Labor Relations experience (including negotiating, arbitration, NLRB).
