Roland DGA Corporation, based in Irvine, Ca, is searching for an experienced HR Director to join our team. The Director of HR is responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing all human resource functions of the Company. He/she is a member of the senior management team, participates in establishing and implementing major goals and objectives of the Company, and serves as a resource in all aspects of human resources. He/she provides leadership in establishing and implementing overall human resource objectives, policies, and plans and ensures that human resource activities are conducted in accordance with established policies and within governmental regulations. This role provides both strategic and hands-on contributions to the Company and plays a key role in identifying and driving initiatives that support a positive culture and foster an environment of high employment engagement, retention, collaboration and satisfaction. Roland DGA markets and distributes digital technology for creative professionals in the sign, apparel, photography, packaging, medical, engraving and 3D modeling industries and has been designated a Top Workplace in Orange County, CA.

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

 

  • Participates with the Senior Management Team in long- and short-term human resource planning and the strategy/direction for the Company’s human resource functions.
  • Executes established goals and ensures that human resource policies support and complement Company strategies and goals.
  • Establishes and manages Departmental Budget and participates in company’s annual people/benefits budgeting process.
  • Is an advocate for culture of values and business ethics. Leads/participates on employee teams promoting positive company culture, conducts satisfaction surveys, and monitors organizational pulse.
  • Provides recommendations to Management on levers to enhance employee engagement and promote positive culture.
  • Presents “new” HR ideas/initiatives/concepts to the Senior Management Team for possible introduction into the Company.
  • Provides expertise, consultation and coaching to supervisors/managers/employees in areas of people management, including career development and performance feedback and all aspects of progressive discipline and documentation.
  • Analyzes wage, salary and benefit programs to ensure competitiveness. Recommends wage adjustments based on objective data regarding competition, profitability, business conditions, and the economic environment.
  • Manages the performance review program to ensure timeliness, effectiveness, compliance and equity within Company.
  • Manages Payroll/HRIS processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion of biweekly payroll and associated payroll/benefit/financial reports.  
  • Manages all transactional HR processes daily and ensures maximum utilization of HRIS resources with the support of the Payroll/HR Representative.
  • Leads talent cultivation, succession planning and recruitment and onboarding initiatives.
  • Monitors and creates platforms for employee recognition and evaluates “total rewards” programs.
  • Ensures the effective performance of the Company’s benefits, retirement and incentive programs and provides recommendations that ensure competitiveness, cost effectiveness and appropriate service delivery.
  • Manages HR/Payroll Representative
  • Ensures that human resource policies are updated and communicated to management and staff. Provides advice and interpretation regarding human resource policies as they relate to individuals and to Company objectives.
  • Ensures that all human resource functions, including recordkeeping, interviewing, hiring, promotions, and terminations, are conducted in accordance with established Company policies and applicable legal requirements. Oversees compliance with related federal and state legislation.
  • Promotes an environment of accountability. Holds “managers” accountable in their responsibility to support employees (i.e. timely employee evaluations with meaningful feedback, reviewing timesheets, periodic employee feedback to minimize surprises, etc.)
  • Represents the Company with various trade professionals and groups and stays informed of trends and changes in the human resources field.

 

Requirements

Education/Certification:       

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or equivalent experience and education.
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred.

                                               

Required Knowledge:             

  • Knowledge of human resource laws and regulations.
  • Understanding of compensation and benefits policies and programs.

 

Experience Required:              

  • Eight to ten years of progressive experience in human resource positions.
  • Supervisory experience required.

 

Skills/Abilities:                            

  • Results driven with strong business acumen.
  • Strong analytical skills, multi-tasker.
  • Strong written and verbal interpersonal communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels within the company.
  • Solid interpersonal and supervisory abilities.
  • Ability to lead teams.
  • HRIS knowledge (Paycom preferred)
  • Microsoft Office Suite
