Director, Human Resources Information Management

The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) is seeking a detailed oriented professional to serve as Director of Human Resources Information Management. This position will report to the Vice President & Chief Human Resources Officer. The individual in this role will be a member of the Human Resources Senior Leadership Team and will lead a team responsible for the operational data and system functionality of WMATA’s Human Capital Management System (HCM) and HR Department’s data infrastructure.  The ideal candidate is an Information Technology (IT) professional, Human Resources leader, and Strategic Business partner with vision, program management and technical expertise. These key skills will build and sustain a technology roadmap, implement best practice, define and enforce HR data standards authority wide comply with standard HR processes, data standards, security, reporting and analytics. The Director of Human Resources Information Management will have a keen focus on an exceptional end user experience. In partnership with the IT Department the Director of Human Resources Information Management ensures the appropriate integration and functionality of all HCM modules and interfaces that support HR’s four centers of expertise to include, Compensation, Benefits, Talent Acquisition and Talent Management.

Other duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Builds strong working relationships with HR leadership to ensure requirements and considerations are being incorporated into long-term plans as well as day to day services.
  • Works closely with HR and IT organizations to effectively design and manage best in class HCM applications and reporting capabilities, defines and enforces HR data standards authority wide and drives the adoption of standard HR processes supported by standard HCM Solutions.
  • Provides direction and operational oversight of the HR SSC to support achievement of HR’s service delivery strategy, including hiring, performance management, training/development and motivation of team.

A Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field.

  • Ten (10) years of functionally relevant experience, 8+ years HR technology/HCM management experience.
  • Direct experience with Peoplesoft HCM system (or other similar HCM systems of same scale such as SAP, Ceridian, ADP, etc.) in a large multi-dimensional organization.
  • Direct experience leading HRIM team providing operational support for applications such as absence management, business intelligence (BI) reporting, organization management and position management.
  • Direct experience in managing people (i.e. having direct reports) for 8 years or more.
  • Experience leading integration of systems and business process management and/or re-engineering of HR business processes.
  • Demonstrated experience in effective project management and change leadership strategies.
  • Position requires previous people leadership experience and demonstrated capabilities in effectively motivating and directing staff.
