Role Description:

The Director - Global Compensation plans, develops and implements new and revised compensation programs, policies and procedures to be responsive to the company's goals and competitive practices. This leader will ensure Astreya's compensation solutions remain competitive to meet the business and talent needs for our continued growth.

You will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership in compensation strategy and philosophy, as well as processes, policies, program design, implementation and administration.

We are seeking someone with a passion for innovation and the desire to partner with global cross functional teams and leaders to achieve competitive, sustainable & scalable results.  This position is also responsible for ensuring through audits, legal reports and personal interactions, that company compensation programs are consistently administered in compliance with company policies and government regulations.

The Director - Global Compensation assesses the impact of current compensation programs and proposes new programs to support achievement of strategic business initiatives. Establishes the vision, mission, guiding principles, goals, strategies, action plans and measurements required to ensure effective program design and delivery. Develops and implements strategic and operating plans for the compensation team.

This role will report into the VP of HR, in the CFO/COO organization of the company.

Your Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Make recommendations on design , development , and implementation of compensation strategy, programs and policies.
  • Responsible for the strategy, design, development and implementation of market-competitive and efficient base pay, incentive compensation, equity compensation, sales compensation plans, as well as non-executive and executive compensation programs.  
  • Monitors the effectiveness of compensation policies, guidelines, and procedures recommending plan revision as needed.
  • Drafts & implements new plans that are cost-effective and consistent with compensation trends and corporate objectives; coordinates implementation and provides guidance to staff.
  • Provides advice to staff on pay decisions, policy and guideline interpretation, and job evaluation, including the design of creative solutions to specific compensation-related programs.
  • Manages the administration of direct compensation (executive, sales, exempt and nonexempt cash and incentive compensation programs) for staff, including the processing, recording, and reporting of compensation-related actions related to employees.
  • Develops tools, systems and techniques for compiling, preparing and presenting data.
  • Participates in, conducts and/or purchases exempt and nonexempt salary surveys to ensure corporate compensation objectives are achieved.
  • Reviews / Revises job descriptions that encompass essential job duties and core competencies for positions including job families and career development paths.
  • Develops and maintains salary structure with salary grades, compensation bands, with salary and total compensation ranges aligned to the market.
  • Supports company with performance management tools and compensation strategy.
  • Keeps apprised of international, federal, state and local compensation laws and regulations to ensure company compliance.
  • This is a hands on individual contributor role.


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in business, human resources or related field.
  • SHRM certification a plus.
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in compensation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of global and domestic compensation experience in the following areas is a requirement: executive compensation, base salary, market pricing, variable pay and performance management, job evaluation, data analysis, research, equity and cost modeling.
  • Comprehensive understanding of government regulations as they apply to compensation base and incentive compensation programs, company policies, and operations.

  • Proven track record of success with creating motivational strategies to develop competitive practices in both a highly skilled professional labor tier and entry level staff tiers, as well as multinational and cross functional programs
  • Proven success as a highly valued business partner
  • Exceptional office and advanced excel skills a must, highly analytical and makes recommendations based on data
  • Data driven, open and transparent, highly ethical, active and continuous improvement learner
