PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1. Monitors developments in the field of Compensation and Rewards Management, and provides analyses of external labor market data.
2. Develops recommendations for a comprehensive Corporate Compensation strategy that supports the objectives of NJ TRANSIT and is consistent with the direction of the State Government; links compensation to individual and team performance that is consistent with NJ TRANSIT's market position strategy
3. Advises management on organization, position evaluation and salary administration issues for non-agreement employees.
4. Develops and implements the administration of NJ TRANSIT's non-agreement position evaluation program. Coordinates and facilitates the Human Resources Compensation Review Committee and the Expanded Compensation Review Committee meetings.
5. Develops and implements the administration of various financial incentive programs.
6. Partners with Employee Development & Training to develop and coordinate the administration of NJ TRANSIT's non-agreement Performance Assessment process.
7. Provides ad-hoc analyses and reports on various compensation related issues.
8. Consults and coordinates with Employee Relations on various issues, including acting assignments, reassignment of non-agreement personnel, complaints related to compensation issues, etc.
9. Consults and coordinates with Strategic Staffing on various issues, including (re)organizations, Talent Search Announcements, internal and external job offers, etc.

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE
SKILLS REQUIRED:

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Liberal Arts, or equivalent, and seven or more years experience in the development and administration of compensation strategies and programs. Compensation Management experience in a public or regulated organization desired. The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and strong interpersonal skills is required. Experience using Microsoft WORD and EXCEL is required. Experience using database and mainframe programs desired.
