Summary: The Director of Compensation, Benefits & HRIS is responsible for the oversight and strategic direction of CRS' worldwide employee compensation and benefit programs, wellness initiatives, job design, job classification and alignment, as well as the input, storage, management and analysis of employee data. S/he manages all compensation and benefits related policies, ensuring widespread understanding of CRS compensation and benefits philosophy and procedures. S/he manages a team, as well as multiple external vendors.

Duties & Responsibilities:

COMPENSATION

  • Provides thought leadership and program design and implementation on compensation-related policies and initiatives, linking programs to overall compensation philosophy, organizational performance, corporate culture and competitive talent acquisition and retention.
  • Conducts, compiles and presents research, benchmark analysis and modeling to support design of market-competitive and motivational compensation programs that align with organizational values, goals and strategies.
  • Develops and implements communication and training programs on compensation topics for managers to promote understanding and effective utilization of concepts, parameters, and programs.
  • Ensures compliance with FLSA and other federal and state level compensation regulations
  • Effectively marries compensation and benefits to create a robust total rewards approach, actively and effectively communicated to employees
  • Determines, maintains and communicates compensation standards and parameters under which CRS Country Programs can set and manage viable local salary ranges and other pay elements
  • Determines, maintains and communicates allowances for expatriate employees, including but not limited to housing, education, and cost-of-living.
  • Leads approach to executive compensation, including validation of ranges through an "intermediate sanctions" approach
  • Manages and supports a team of analysts in the identification and resolution of compensation related issues.
  • Partners with the Finance and Legal teams as needed with respect to regulatory, accounting and tax requirements.

BENEFITS

  • Oversees administration and development of health-related employee benefit programs, including health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, and workers compensation programs.
  • Oversee administration and development of CRS retirement plans; including direct support of programs for US Staff and expatriate staff, and general guidance / parameters for CRS Country Programs.
  • Determines, maintains and communicates benefit standards and parameters under which CRS Country Programs can set and manage local benefit packages
  • Oversee all benefits related leave, including maternity, parental, and leave of absence, ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and Local FMLA
  • Develops and maintains wellness initiatives in line with CRS values, goals, and strategies.
  • Ensures CRS benefit approaches and programs are in-line with market standards and trends, to ensure adequate competitiveness
  • Manages and supports a team of analysts in the identification and resolution of benefits related issues.
  • Manages several vital and complex relationships with vendors and benefits brokers
  • Partners with Finance on "Fringe" rates to monitor and manage overall costs of benefits programs

JOB DESIGN & CLASSIFICATION

  • Develops job design and classification structures, including job level and family structure, and nomenclature standards to support organized, auditable and sustainable job description information.
  • Ensure the integrity and relevance of job descriptions through periodic review against organizational requirements, industry standards, compensation and market relevance.

INFORMATION SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT

  • Manages CRS HRIS technology infrastructure by ensuring high quality program management of HR-related data including sufficient controls and security, as well as compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Designs and ensures clear and streamlined business process to capture employee events and transitions
  • Supports HR and CRS Business Units through regular, robust, and timely reporting related to employee data.
  • Ensures data sent to/from vendors (including payroll) is accurate and timely, as well as appropriately secure.
  • Proactively supports HRIS training, usage, and troubleshooting across CRS Country Programs, integrating data from nearly 70 country programs.
  • Manages and supports a team of analysts in the identification and resolution of HRIS related issues.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant area of study required. Master's Degree preferred.
  • 10 years of relevant experience, including managing a team
  • Experience with implementation and management of Information Systems/HRIS required, including high level proficiency with relational databases and data reporting
  • Experience in a global organization highly preferred
  • Proven experience designing, maintaining, and communicating market-driven compensation and benefits programs
  • Proven experience in job design and classification.
  • Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS, and DOL regulations
  • CCP, PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
