Our beautiful, 352-acre campus is conveniently located near Baltimore, MD; Philadelphia, PA; Washington, DC; and Wilmington, DE. We offer more than 70 affordable degree and certificate programs to nearly 2,000 full-time and 7,500 part-time students, as well as a wide variety of noncredit continuing education courses to nearly 11,000 students per year.

The Coordinator for Professional Development is a key member of the Human Resources Team who leads and collaborates efforts in a higher education environment to develop personnel at all levels of the institution.   The work includes partnering with campus leadership to identify and address staff training and development needs – from assessment, to design/facilitation, and results measurement.  This role leads and /or contributes to the development and delivery of training projects in a person-focused, community college setting. 

 Responsibilities range from creating individual development plans through the management of campus-wide technical training requirements.  The Coordinator works closely with the Director for Human Resources to ensure training and development goals are captured in the employee's annual evaluation and linked to the College’s rewards system. The Coordinator works with the HR team to ensure that employees may contribute to campus goals and objectives, and works on specific projects that improve and support all phases of an individual’s developmental cycle.

Duties include, but are not limited to, conducting needs analyses; developing training strategies and plans; implementing and managing professional development projects; designing and implementing communication strategies; developing mechanisms for measuring impact/success of initiatives; co-coordinating the New Employee Orientation program; overseeing all technology relating to learning programs, including project oversight and working with vendors; tracking and reporting on training delivered; and performing other duties as assigned.

This an exempt, professional staff position.


A bachelor's degree and two years of experience in a similar role are required; related licenses and certifications are a plus. 

Applicants will be evaluated on criteria including, but not limited to, experience partnering with leadership to address staff training and development needs; experience designing, facilitating, and measuring results for professional development programs; demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with employees at all levels of an organization; knowledge of current learning management systems and the ability to assess future trends; experience conducting needs analyses; and advanced skills in a Windows-based computer system, including the MS Office Suite.

Salary is commensurate with education, experience, and licensure.
