Summary

L3 Warrior Sensor Systems Sector is hiring a Sr. Compensation & Benefits Specialist to manage and administer competitive benefit and compensation programs and related policies at the Division and Sector levels.  The Sector Compensation & Benefits Partner will play a key part in implementing L3 Technologies major compensation and benefits programs and provide client facing compensation and benefits support. This role will be a key member of L3’s Segment compensation and benefits team, ensuring the success of the function and striving for continuous improvement.

 

Essential Responsibilities

 

Compensation:

  • Monitors the effectiveness of existing compensation policies and programs, analyzes trends and data to make recommendations, which are cost effective and consistent with compensation trends and corporate objectives, and coordinates implementation of related changes.
  • Provides proactive advice to Human Resources Team regarding compensation practices, job evaluation and leveling, policy and guideline interpretation, and creative solutions to specific compensation-related programs.
  • Analyzes total reward programs to ensure competitive standings in the market.
  • Remains abreast of federal, state and local laws and regulations in order to ensure compliance with compensation, benefits and leave administration; i.e. HIPAA, ERISA, COBRA, FLSA.
  • Conducts market analysis and insights for new and existing roles, supports recruiters with compensation offers.
  • Conducts job evaluations, workforce classification projects.
  • Use strong communication & analytical skills to drive understanding of compensation philosophies, practices and administration among leaders and managers and assist in cascading to all levels of the organization.
  • Partners with Sr. Executives, management and Human Resources to provide insight and consulting into organization design opportunities, align job descriptions with the company job architecture, define career paths, and consult managers and leaders on pay related questions.
  • Collaborates with HR leadership to provide analytical insight and market analysis on a variety of projects or programs, including organizational design, job architecture, compensation programs, and/or program implementation.
  • Administers pay programs, including base pay and annual merit and incentive pay programs.
  • Ensures accuracy in HRIS system for data related to organization structure, job architecture, and compensation.

Benefits:

  • Administers employee benefits programs such as retirement plans, medical, dental, vision, COBRA, life insurance, time off, disability programs, employee stock purchase, service anniversary, and other voluntary benefits.
  • Evaluates and compares existing company benefits with those of other employers by analyzing other plans, surveys, and other sources of information.
  • Assists in driving a uniform benefit package for all company locations.
  • Working in conjunction with L3 Corporate Benefits, develops company cost information for new plans.
  • Implements approved new benefit plans and changes by coordinating and preparing announcement material, booklets, presentations and other media for communicating new plans to employees. Conducts employee meetings and arranges for enrollment of employees in benefit plans.
  • Identifies and implements innovative strategies for regularly communicating our benefit plans and wellness initiatives to employees.
  • Handles benefit inquiries and complaints to ensure quick, equitable, courteous resolution. Maintains contact in person, and by phone or mail, with insurance companies, employees, and beneficiaries to facilitate proper and complete utilization of benefits for all employees.
  • Performs other duties, as required.

Requirements

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of recent and related experience in compensation and benefit administration, preferably with a large organization and/or within a government contract setting.
  • Certifications such as CCP or CEP are highly desired and will differentiate candidates. 
  • Exceptional quantitative, analytical, data and project management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel including data structure, layout and reporting. Experience with SAP desired.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking. In addition, the successful candidate must be able to think beyond financial and economic drivers in order to create compensation packages that will attract, retain, and motivate the right talent.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills for interaction with executive decision makers (composing job descriptions, proposals, and executive presentations).
  • Commitment to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Experience conducting job evaluations, salary surveys, developing salary structures, and administering a variety of compensation programs.
  • Knowledge of base compensation and incentive plan programs.
  • Experience with job leveling and analysis including job/career path development.
  • Familiarity with Government Contracting.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and time efficiently.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a customer facing role and as a collaborative member of a diverse team.
  • Some travel will be required.
