MAJOR PURPOSE:

         

Responsible for strategic development, management and guidance of compensation for Major League Baseball.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Development and implementation of compensation policies, practices and procedures, and counsels with management regarding the application of sound compensation practices
  • Conduct ongoing compensation benchmarking and analysis to maintain competitive compensation and benefit practices – participate in compensation surveys and professional network groups
  • Ensure cost-effective, market-competitive, internal equity, legal compliance and alignment with the company’s overall strategic objectives
  • Build and maintain a compensation structure and conduct job evaluations to ensure internal job placement is at the appropriate level, title, and job classification
  • Partner with other internal teams to standardize job levels and career ladders across the organization, and lead efforts to ensure consistency in salary structures across all job functions
  • Oversee and approve all compensation changes in Workday
  • Assist with managing the year-end review process – ensure merit and reward guidelines are followed and implemented; initiate and monitor the compensation process within Workday; train end-users
  • Assist with administration and development of company benefits and total rewards initiatives
  • Administer the Spot Awards incentive program

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive compensation experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related discipline preferred
  • Preferred multi-industry experience supporting headcount of 1500+
  • Exhibits strong analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including strong presentation skills
  • Customer service mindset
  • High degree of confidentiality and integrity
  • Experience with Workday preferred
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Power Point and HRIS systems
