Job Description

The Compensation Planning & Systems Manager is a key role within Heitman’s global Human Resources team.   The focus of the role is to design and manage compensation programs that support an employer of choice culture and that recognize and reward high performance.  The incumbent will be responsible for compensation strategy development, plan design, budgets, policies, documentation, and implementation globally.  In addition, they will also have management responsibility for Heitman’s HRIS systems.

 

The Compensation Planning & Systems Manager will ensure consistency of processes, policies, and legal compliance, optimize existing processes to drive accuracy and scalability, as well as analyze program effectiveness. The incumbent will collaborate with Executive Leadership and other members of the Human Resources team to develop or enhance compensation programs and manage day-to-day operations.

 

The responsibilities of a Compensation Planning & Systems Manager include, but are not limited to:

 

 ·       Serve as the primary point of contact for Senior Leadership, HR Business Partner, Talent Acquisition and Business Leaders on a range of compensation-related topics

 

·       Manage, administer, and advise on all compensation related activity including but not limited to offers, merit, promotions and market adjustments

 

·       Monitor the effectiveness of existing compensation policies, guidelines and procedures recommending plan revisions as well as new plans, which are industry competitive and support and drive Heitman’s culture

 

·       Design, manage and administer executive compensation programs including base pay, bonus, long-term incentives, and equity programs

 

·       Conduct and analyze market salary studies as needed for various compensation benchmarking

 

·       Assist with developing communication strategies and materials for compensation processes

 

·       Analyze new or revised job descriptions to determine the appropriate salary grade assignment, compensation range, EEOC, FLSA and worker’s compensation classifications

 

·       Analyze data to provide metrics to the company and executive leadership to support the progress on initiatives and objectives

 

·       Stay informed on global, federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulations to ensure company compliance

 

·       Proactively optimize HRIS systems to solve business needs/problems

 

·       Collaborate with HR and business to provide comprehensive metrics that guide HR strategy

 

·       Write, maintain, and support a variety of reports or queries using appropriate reporting tools. Assist in development of standard reports for ongoing business needs. Help maintain data integrity in systems by running queries and analyzing data

 

·       Maintain awareness on current trends in compensation and HRIS


Requirements

          Minimum 5+ years of progressive compensation experience

         Experience in designing incentive compensation plans

         Ability to effectively consult with business leaders and HR business partners on performance-based incentive strategies

         Experience with implementing and maintaining HRIS systems

         Excellent communication skills

         Excellent customer service skills

         Expert knowledge of Excel and proficiency in the rest of Microsoft Office Suite

         Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or a related field is preferred

         Certified Compensation Professional or other relevant certification preferred

         Proven analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to derive actionable recommendations
